Calling all media interns...jump start your career and gain valuable insight in online and print media working at the Adelaide's favourite bridal magazines, BRIDES OF ADELAIDE and BAROSSA BRIDE magazines.

From our stylish city offices in, our passionate and enthusiastic Design Channel team spends each day planning upcoming issues, researching stories and pictures, writing, editing, designing, styling shoots, reviewing makeup and fashion and basically doing some of the best jobs in online and print media.

We provide opportunities for graphic designers, media and journalism students who want some hands-on experience working in magazine production and online journalism and contribute to the success of our titles.

We accept interns for a minimum of eight weeks and a maximum of six months. Design Channel internships are typically full-time and you must be able to come to our offices in Adelaide. We prefer applicants with university level experience and some training, or at least a keen interest in weddings.

Because we are a boutique publishing house, interns gain an insight into many aspects of magazine publishing and online and print journalism. Internships are unpaid; however, as a result of doing an internship at Design Channel, some graduates have landed jobs at Design Channel, in the media and others have become regular freelancers for the magazines or the websites.

Interns are unpaid, but receive a written reference describing their duties and performance during their internships, plus copies of the issue on which they worked. Not all tasks are glamorous (such as proof-reading the same article six times or stuffing 200 envelopes for a publicity mail-out) but they are essential in developing an understanding of and gaining experience in the excitingly fast paced publishing industry.

Email us your resume, a letter explaining why you would like to work as an intern at Design Channel, and at least three examples of published or unpublished articles/artwork. Please also indicate what dates you are available for the internship.

The letter should be no more than 600 words long. It should include some background on who you are, what your career aspirations are and the areas of media in which you are most interested. If you are at university, please also indicate the subjects you are undertaking.
