Those delicious smelling food trucks line up at least halfway down the block? They aren’t just for your lunch break anymore! They are the next big things in weddings and we LOVE! Budget friendly and such good food, you and your guests will be in for a treat. Here’s what you need to know…
If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, choosing a date that falls under the coldest months probably isn’t the best idea. You need to make sure your guests are comfortable standing outside waiting for their food, so late spring or summer would be the ideal time! Also, consider a seating space for your guests to enjoy their tasty treats.
The simpler the menu is, the better for the cooks and your guests to decide. This will eliminate any long lines and lengthy waits for all the hungry people camped out waiting for food. Make sure you have enough trucks to satisfy the number of guests at your wedding, about 1 every 80 guests.

Menu napkin rings are contemporary and innovative idea we are loving! Clear space on tables for the fun stuff like creative decor and provide guests with an individual menu - no more fighting over a chunky leather-bound book to see what sauce comes with the chicken. These menus are accessible, adaptable to any wedding scheme and create a polished, refined and minimalistic table scape. So chic...
There are a magnitude of designs available online to download, or if you are tech-savvy design your own custom-made to suit your wedding and personal style. Have fun with stationary - think brown paper bags, textured or embossed paper or a coloured alternative.
Font choice is also a critical element. A font says a million words - literally and metaphorically. The cursive calligraphy in the image below is feminine and modest while the above images with sans script alludes to a modern and stylish affair.

Think protein on the morning of your big day – it will keep you full, won’t bloat you and will give you long-term energy (unlike sugar!) A protein-fuelled breakfast of eggs, salmon, a yummy protein smoothie, or fruit and cottage cheese will keep you going throughout the busy morning! Quinoa and oats are grains full of protein that can be a delicious breakkie with berries or banana, honey and cinnamon. Even throw a small choc protein bar in your bag for during the busy day to stop your sugar-levels from dropping.

Watermelon is practically the unofficial fruit of summer, which means it is the perfect fruit for a crowd-pleasing cocktail. Garnish the cocktail with sprigs of fresh mint + spears of watermelon. This recipe is simple enough to make in bulk, making it perfect for large weddings.
INGREDIENTS [makes 8 drinks]
30 large fresh mint leaves
4 thick slices fresh watermelon, seeds and rind removed
1 1/4 cup light rum, such as Bacardi
1/2 cup sugar syrup
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (3 limes)
Sprigs of mint + spears of watermelon, for serving
1.Use a mortar + pestle to mash the mint leaves - you can add a little sugar to help break up the leaves + get the oils from the mint extracted.
2.Remove and discard the rind and seeds of the watermelon. Place the watermelon, rum, sugar syrup and lime juice in a blender + blend until smooth. Stir to get the froth to go down.
3.Put the mashed mint into a large pitcher + add in the watermelon mixture. Stir to combine the mint with the juice.
4.Place ice cubes in glasses and pour the mojito mixture into the glasses. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint and spears of watermelon.
Who doesn’t enjoy a good margarita on a balmy night – especially when it is mixed with fresh + mild cucumber! This awesome flavour combination is reminiscent of a tropical island paradise + will keep your guest coming back for more. Serve on the rocks or try blending with ice for a daiquiri feel.
INGREDIENTS [makes 1 pitcher]
3 cucumbers, peeled + roughly chopped
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup water

1 jalapeño, sliced
2 tablespoons Maldon sea salt
2 teaspoons white granulated sugar
1-teaspoon fresh lime zest
1.Add the chopped cucumber to a food processor + pulse until the mixture turns smooth. Run the puree through a sieve + you should end up with 1 1/2 cup of cucumber juice; set aside.
2.In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat on medium low until the sugar dissolves.
3.To a pitcher, mix together the cucumber juice, tequila, triple sec, lime juice + jalapeño. Add half of the sugar syrup and do a taste test + adjust according to taste
4.Transfer to the refrigerator so the jalapeño has time to spice the mixture. Check the mixture every 15-20 minutes + do a taste test.
5.On a plate, mix together the salt, sugar + lime zest. Run a lime around the edge of the glasses to moisten; dip the rims in the salt + sugar mixture. Add a few ice cubes to each glass and divide the margarita mixture between the glasses. Garnish with a few slices of jalapeño or lime or even a few slices of cucumber.

Save water, and drink wine with your girls! Your bridal shower should be spent celebrating you and doing something you love. If you love your grapes, (fermented, in a glass) then a wine tour could be the perfect idea for your party.
Grab your girls, charter a bus or throw a small affair at home and enjoy a good drop of vino. We are so lucky in Adelaide to have beautiful wine regions virtually at our doorstep. Design a cute "supply" box for each of your girls for the day. Some Bandaids, wine tasting tips, a small bottle of water and some Panadol (for the next morning) are some cute ideas.
