Menu napkin rings are contemporary and innovative idea we are loving! Clear space on tables for the fun stuff like creative decor and provide guests with an individual menu - no more fighting over a chunky leather-bound book to see what sauce comes with the chicken. These menus are accessible, adaptable to any wedding scheme and create a polished, refined and minimalistic table scape. So chic...
There are a magnitude of designs available online to download, or if you are tech-savvy design your own custom-made to suit your wedding and personal style. Have fun with stationary - think brown paper bags, textured or embossed paper or a coloured alternative.
Font choice is also a critical element. A font says a million words - literally and metaphorically. The cursive calligraphy in the image below is feminine and modest while the above images with sans script alludes to a modern and stylish affair.

Flower chandeliers are such a fun and pretty statement piece and make the perfect addition to any venue space to spruce up the ceiling and help in making the area appear larger. So we thought we would put together this little DIY project to show you how you can make your very own floral chandelier. And best of all? It will last forever using silk flowers, here’s how…
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Silk flowers and foliage
Wire chandelier base
Flower tape or a hot glue gun
Twine [or something to hang the chandelier up with]
STEP 1: begin by cutting and separating he foliage that you want to fill the base with and tape them to the wire piece with floral tape [or glue]. You can use one type of foliage or you can use a mixture for the base. Do this all the way around until it is robust and full.
STEP 2: add in some green accents on the bottom to create a dangling effect, for example, heather bush or ferns. On the top use greens such as hops that will give dimension and texture to the chandelier.
STEP 3: your focal flowers [the larger ones] should be cut so that they are about 2 inches long on their stem and tape or glue them onto the chandelier where you like. They look best when bunched/placed together as shown above.
STEP 4: finish by adding your accent flowers all around the edges then add your twine. It is best if you tie them in a triangle shape to evenly distribute the weight of the chandelier. Don’t forget to consider how and where it will hang before you measure the length of twine– ties around a beam? Nailed in?
How pretty right? Take a look below at some other ideas to inspire you…

Sophisticated polka dots are literally everywhere on Pinterest at the moment. From playful tulle prints to feminine and subtle Swiss dots, polka dots are most definitely a fresh idea to consider. The best thing about this trend is that it can be incorporated into almost any element of your wedding from wedding dresses and veils, to tablescapes, stationery, cakes… You get the drift! Off pinks and creams characterise the look, with a splash of mod black here and there. It's fun, it's flirty and it's so easy to create yourself, so join us as we sprinkle some irresistible fun into wedding style...
Keep your look fresh and fun by mixing up your elements of polka dots and poms poms - swap a uniform look for circles in different sizes, colours and textures! A sprinkling of polka dots throughout the fashion, from the veil to the groom's socks, are a fashion forward way to keep your theme consistent [although try not to go OTT or you may end up more dalmation than dashing.]

Invite your guests to join you for a sophisticated, elegant and kid free wedding reception. Cocktail lounges are elite and beautiful, romantic and special. We think they make for the perfect venue, with lounges, catering and music. Undeniably non-traditionally we love the style and class associated with a cocktail lounge venue.
Create a unique reception concept and program, cake cutting and
speeches on arrival? This will allow guests to party the night away.
Perhaps have a designated lounge area for parents and bridal party,
playing off the tradition of the bridal party table.
Slip into something a little more fun and sexy for the reception. A wedding gown in a cocktail lounge might get a little hot and not be the most comfortable choice. Gold sequins have always been a fan of ours, or somehting like this gorgeous, white flowing dress is very pretty and appropriate.

Perhaps you’ve got an undying love for floral prints, Cameo pins, antique collectables or your pear shaped 1ct engagement ring… The antique inspired wedding scheme encases all things vintage, feminine and pretty. Take your guests on an adventure to eras gone by with classy and classic fashion, décor, food and favours all inspired by the fabulous Marie Antoinette. For a soft and stylish wedding aspire to these antique accents in your day.
If you channel you inner Marie Antoinette you immediately vision opulent designs, gorgeous gowns and luxe everything. A chateau dressed in timeless tones of pastels, pinks and gold’s are the perfect backdrop for this soiree. The aim – a plethora of cakes, a multitude of props and intricate details. As a bride, the search for your gown should be one that brings out the soft, sweet and fancy side of you, so think ball gown shapes, layers and a lot of beading and detail.
Lavish floral arrangements and chandeliers, elongated tables and chaise back chairs all make for luxurious extra details. Gold vases contrast beautifully with china dinnerware in muted pastel tones and gold trimmings. Your stationery should reflect the theme with cursive writing and an ornate border; why not have them cut in the shape of a handheld mirror, such a super cute idea. Create a seating area styled with antique sofas and armchairs complete with a few pouffes for your guests comfort, just like the picture below.

Plato once said that beauty of style, harmony, grace and good rhythm
depend on simplicity. Ultimately, less is more. Sometimes, however, it
takes a lot of effort to look like you haven’t put in any effort at all.
Which is why we have put together our favourite ‘less is more’ styling
concepts – ideas in neutrals that are elegant, not boring.
White is crisp, timeless and looks fabulous when teamed with earthy
woods, taupes and…more white! Understated sophistication is a peony
bouquet, a freshly picked flower placed in a rustic glass and a loosely
folded napkin on white tablecloth.
Simple details will keep your styling interesting and without a frenzy of colour the beautiful details are what guests will notice. A place card handwritten with love will not be overlooked and a succulent plant is a bomboniere gift that complements the natural, effortless styling. In a fast-moving world colour palettes come and go but style lasts forever.

The music inspired wedding is vintage-chic and beautiful. Think sheet
music, musical instruments and live music. Implement an element of
music in as much of your wedding as you can for the perfect wedding
styling. Use guitars, pianos, violins etc. at props! Imagine a guitar
guest book, making for a gorgeous and sentimental keepsake. Treat your
guests to pianists or live musicians to create a cool atmosphere to
celebrate amongst, in style.
Sheet music is easily sourced and has a gorgeous vintage feel. A versatile textile which can used throughout your entire day! How amazing are all these gorgeous ideas?

There’s nothing more sweeter than a little girl in a tutu, and if there was nothing more exciting for you than growing up to be a ballerina, make dreams come true with the ballerina bride style. Vintage and French inspired pieces like furniture, china, silver, chandeliers and crystal champagne glassware brings this fantasy to life. Think plenty of tulle and satin to adorn the day.
Imagine a lyrical performance from a ballerina en pointe before you make a grand entrance. Think ultra girly pinks, more ribbon than you can shake a stick at and an abundance of roses and you’re there. For your gown, big tulle skirts with clean lined bodices are a must paired with a sweet-heart neckline to embrace that femininity and elegance of a ballet theme. Think about perhaps including some chantilly lace for that ethereal look and a waist band to show off your curves.
14 July 2016
For a rustic-chic wedding style, try incorporating twine into your
décor. From invites, tablescape and decorative elements. – twine adds
texture and exudes creativity and flair. It’s accessible and is a
subtle style to integrate into any colour palette.
Twine-wrapped bottles are a super cute and effective decorative element. Such an affordable and easy diy project with the coolest results! How vintage/rustic does this old wine bottle look.
Adding twine to your wedding bouquet will tie the theme into your fashion and accessories, doubling as your bouquet handle.

The way that these two gorgeous colours play off each other is pretty perfect, just like you and your beau! You’re gold [vibrant and beautiful] and he is brown [strong and stately] – put the two together and you cant help but fall in love!! You’ll quickly realize these two colours blend beautifully because they are practically the same hue, the difference being a touch of fabulous shimmer. Take a look and prepare to be mesmerised…
Introduce your guests to your colour scheme from the get-go with your invites. Gold-foiled finish with a natural style lends a sense of glamour and elegance to the design, just the right impression you want to make on your guests. Don’t be shy about gathering various shades of gold for your wedding decorations. For example, the tablescape below features classic gold taper candles in brushed gold candle stands. The floral centerpieces have yet another shade of golden leaves tucked inside the greenery. Brown and gold wedding decorations blend together beautifully, lending just enough contrast to create a brilliant look yet still remaining soft and inviting.

It’s the final stretch, as you begin the countdown to the most important day of your life, there are a few things you need to remember. Before you immerse yourself fully into the excitement and whirlwind of the day, here are 7 things you should do 24 hours prior to your wedding day [you’ll thank us later]…
EAT A HEALTHY MEAL
It is important to fuel your body with the right foods the night before your wedding. We understand that the greasy pizza and the block of Cadbury chocolate are screaming your name but it is essential to stick to fruit and wholegrain. Eating a meal that wont bloat you is best, try some steamed veggies and grilled chicken instead.
DRINK LOTS OF WATER
Keep a bottle on you at all times during the day. This will help you avoid any dehydration that stress and last minute running around can often cause, and not to mention will keep your skin looking fresh and those dark circles away.
GET A GOOD NIGHT SLEEP
Or at least try to tuck yourself underneath those covers at a decent hour and turn off your thinking cap.
PUT TOGETHER YOUR SURVIVAL KIT
Be prepared for any outfit or beauty related mishaps with an emergency survival kit. Include items like deodorant, bobby pins, safety pins, lipstick, mascara, hairspray, face powder, shoe inserts, tissues, panadol, Band-Aids and so forth. You never know what could go wrong.
DESIGNATE A MORNING AFTER PERSON
This person's role is simple, collect all the gifts at the end of the wedding and do one final sweep of the venue when the party is over to make sure you didn't leave anything behind.
TURN YOUR PHONE ON SILENT
It is time to disconnect from the outside world – meaning say goodbye to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and stop replying to those text messages. Put your phone on silent and hand it to a responsible adult who will not give it back to you until the right time.
FOCUS ON YOU
We understand that your wedding day can be very stressful, so make sure that you also take a little bit of time for yourself and relax. Indulge in a spa treatment or massage, listen to your favourite music and just take some time to really focus on yourself.

So usually when you mention using skulls in your wedding décor people pull the funniest faces at the thought – it’s quite amusing to say the least – but we bet they have never seen them look this good! Inspired by an Alexander McQueen scarf that caught our eye here at the office, it combined girlie pink with edginess through the incorporation of the iconic Alexander McQueen skull. Ladies, we promise you, this post proves that, if need be, skulls can be incorporated into a wedding and still look bridal.
There are so many shapes, forms and sizes that skull heads come in! One of our absolute fave is using Swarovski encrusted skulls; they are girly, glam and look spectacular when paired with fresh florals and candles. Bell jars covering black skulls add an air of modern chicness to any centrepiece, especially when placed on a mirrored base. The key to pulling off skull décor is to keep the palette high-end and clean through the use of black, white, gold or even botanicals, the aim is to make them stand out.

We love a good colour block; it’s so modern and refreshing! Gorgeously vibrant reds are a match made in heaven when paired with pink hues for a pretty and playful wedding palette –especially when set against a bit of gold or copper. These tones are fabulous as accent colours to really make a statement and add real warmth and intimacy to your look. Reminiscent of raspberries and rubies, be inspired by all the darling ways this palette can make your celebration pop…
Featuring one impactful statement piece is a modern and vibrant way to use this palette; An ombre draped curtain ceremony backdrop complete with romantically lit candles, or a luscious centrepiece filled with red and pink florals to the perfect abstract manicure of bold colours against the crisp white of a wedding dress! If you love this palette, but don't want it to be too bold, choose to limit the reds to pops in specific places and use a light shade of pink everywhere else.

THE COUPLE: Lucy + Nick
PALETTE: Soft pinks and greens based on our love for Australian natives.
THE CEREMONY + RECEPTION: The ceremony and reception were held in Nick’s brother’s backyard. We wanted our declaration of love to be in a place where guests could feel comfortable and at home. My sister’s partner made our ceremony arch from scratch. We hired guest chairs and borrowed quirky decor extras, including our ‘bathtub esky’ to hold the refreshments.
It was amazing to surprise our loved ones as guests were originally invited to what they thought was our ‘engagement party’. We even had decoy outfits that we wore as people were arriving and then about thirty minutes into the celebration my father announced that it was actually our wedding! We all went inside to change and my brother, brother-in-law and father set up the chairs and our arch whilst our florist put together the finishing touches. Nick and I had our ‘first look’ in the house before we both walked down the aisle with our parents.
THE DÉCOR: Gorgeous Australian native blooms were placed in jars and scattered across the tables alongside assorted tea light candles. Pillows and blankets were spread across the lawn for a relaxed, picnic feel where guests could mingle. Other styling elements such as the old dresser, tables, weathered ‘gifts + cards’ suitcase and doily tablecloths were all sourced from family members. Having pieces from family, friends and the church made everyone feel a part of the day.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We were looking for contemporary, Australian and unique photography. Nick has been friends with Christopher for a while and he truly is the best!

What can be more romantic than a dusting of snow on your big day – just imagine all the dreamy shots your photographer can capture! Combined with muted shades of green florals and you have the elegant winter wedding of your dreams…
A long sleeve lace wedding gown with a full ball-gown skirt is perfect to keep the winter chill away and keep within the romantic style of a winter wonderland celebration. It is the perfect colour for those autumn celebrations. This comforting and warming shade offers positive vibes and is rich, elegant and all the things that rustic fall weddings are made of! Mustard is the kind of colour that looks amazing when paired with neutrals, grey or black. Have a space that's lacking colour and character? Mustard is a colour that transforms spaces!
When it comes to florals, this hue has no shortage of pretty blooms to pair. Infuse your bouquets with some billy buttons for some added colour and a real POP! Highlight your colour choice through your wedding cake. If you are choosing to have this palette as an autumn wedding, then why not choose a richer cake flavour like chocolate or spice cake.

Here is South Australia we have been lucky enough to be blessed with some of the most picturesque and simply stunning wine regions in Australia, so why not take advantage of that on your special day! Draw inspiration from the lush grapevines of the vineyards, the historical textures of the barns and the surrounding landscape of the countryside. Its all about the fine wine and good food – we can’t think of a reason not to get married on a vineyard!
Incorporate wine bottle corks, whether in your design or as a favour keychain, wooden wine barrels and the natural and organic elements of fresh florals and herbs into your flower décor. Balance the rustic elements with elegant touches of candelabras and candles for a romantic candlelit dinner, crystal chandeliers suspended above all complimented perfectly with intricate fresh floral designs.
Nothing goes better with a good drop of wine quite like cheese, so a cheese wheel wedding cake is the perfect addition to your vineyard wedding. Pop princess Madonna might not be a fan of them – but we sure are, alongside with just about every bride-to-be. Hydrangeas are the perfect classical summer flower and a quite popular wedding day bloom. Not only are the fluffy flowers perfect for creating a romantic, garden vibe, but they also come in tons of colours from bright white and cream to pale blue and antique green to nearly every shade of pink. A truly versatile flower, they stand out bunched on their own or look absolutely fantastic mixed with other blooms.
A dramatic focal point is the perfect accessory to your vow exchange, like this gorgeous wooden arbour that’s decorated in foliage and white hydrangeas. Alternatively, place bunches of hydrangea in vases along the aisle with lit candles for a romantic feel as you walk down the aisle towards hubby-to-be. Lush hydrangeas look incredibly elegant when used en masse; elevate them on pedestals for extra height and drama or wow your guests with amazing tables runners made entirely from fresh hydrangeas.

It’s the purrfect day! Cats have exploded on the internet and go perfectly together just as mason jars do with weddings – so why not skip everything in between and out cats and weddings together instead – crazy right?! It’s cuteness overload! It’s fun, stylish and totally unique. Fellow feline loving ladies, be prepared because this is your dream come true…
Don’t leave any phrase unpunned – ‘just meowied,’ ‘furever,’ ‘hiss + purrs’ – the options are endless and are relevant to every aspect of your celebration. Balls of yarn make for the perfect centrepieces when scattered in different sizes and are available in so many colours to match your palette. If you are looking for an alternative to table numbers, naming each table a different type of cat is genius and keeps the theme flowing.
Kitty ears are the perfect accessory addition for any bride and not to mention fun! If you and your partner have cats as a pet then it’s a cute idea to make references to them. Try naming the cocktails at the bar after them and their personalities, or have stickers of their faces on the favour packages. It will sure be one fun feline-fest that you will remember furever [see, even now we are getting in on the puns]!

Waking up to rain your wedding day in the colder months might feel like a huge bummer, but tradition has it that it is considered good luck! Many believe that rain brings fertility, cleansing, unity and renewal to your wedding day and marriage. The Hindus believe that a wet knot is harder to untie – meaning your marriage will be just as hard to unravel.
Nonetheless, no bride who doesn’t have a little panic attack at the thought of wet weather no matter how much good luck it can bring, but relax, we have you covered with our 5 tips on how to tackle a rainy day…
CALL YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Photographers have literally seen and dealt with it all – especially wet weather weddings. Discuss with them the possible indoor locations that you can shoot at close by, or if you’re brave, talk about the potential of having your images taken in the rain – do we need to remind you of the stunning shot below?
BUY PRETTY UMBRELLAS
There are so many umbrella choices out there; you just have to pick one! Don’t forget to purchase some for your bridesmaids as well as you do the dash from the car to the church. Rock a calm vibe and your best “I knew it was going to rain” face.
PAT, DAB, WATERPROOF + SMOOTH
It’s a huge possibility that you’re probably going to cry on your wedding day so it’s a given that ANY bride knows that waterproof mascara and liner are your wedding day best friend. You might also want to discuss with your hairdresser a second option hairstyle to avoid frizz – topknots, buns and braids always work well. Don’t forget your powder touch up before the reception and a smoothing hair serum to combat flyaways.
You’re a girl, we have all been there – the stiletto heel sinking into the grass situation – now add some water into the mix and your $$$$ wedding shoes will never stand a chance. A more relaxed bride might opt for the good old fun wellies in crazy patterns and colours to brighten up the day. If you’re a bride that MUST wear heels, then perhaps opt for a wedge instead or even a spare pair of shoes to do the dash from the car to inside then pop on your wedding shoes.
You can’t beat it and you can’t control Mother Nature in all her glory! Inform your guests that you WILL be going ahead with your wedding, it might be wet and cold, but it will be amazing nonetheless!!

Industrial style is a long time favourite of ours, the mixing of so many raw materials together to create a visual delight! A minimalists dream, add some concrete to your wedding day décor. The hard texture of concrete looks amazing combined with soft garlands and greenery, not to mention metallic accents to add an air of elegance.

A waffle cake is the perfect addition to your brunch nuptials, why not pour syrup over it rather than “cut” the cake – just like in the photo below.
A waffle bar, yoghurt station, coffee cart and bacon and egg buffet – the culinary opportunities are endless with a brunch soiree, just think of everything you love to eat for breakfast and put them on offer for your guests. Make sure you don’t forget your mimosa bar; there is no better way to enjoy fruit in the morning!

Cranberry and mustard; could it be the new and improved peanut butter and jelly? We will let you be the judge of that but we certainly love the colour combo, it's the perfect palette to brighten up your autumn wedding!
The vibrancy of the colours are as perfect for each other as you and hubby. They look so good together we almost want to eat it!
Imagine providing your guests with a delicious beverage, matching the colour scheme. It's amazing how much of a 'wow factor' small touches like this will make.

There are so many options when it comes to décor and styling of shabby chic and rustic charm weddings, but one thing remains consistent, the essential detail that reclaimed wooden accents give. Take a look at all the ways you can include the beauty of nature into your nuptials…
Introduce your wedding guests to your rustic wooden element from the get-go with wedding invitations printed on thing wood veneer like the one above. Check out our local wedding stationery vendors for more details HERE.
Instead of utilising wooden slabs on your centrepieces, why not place the wedding reception food or desserts on them to add that rustic charm. Customize a salvaged piece of wood with the text of your choice and include that in your décor – whether it is a welcome sign or seating chart.

There is something so striking and appealing about a simple winter palette, which is why grey, white and green is up there as a fave. The muted tones of grey and green are warm and cosy and look lovely on a winter’s day. Imply quality, tranquility and comfort with these muses…
Bridesmaids look lovely dresses in grey on a winter’s day. For the venue, opt for grey tablecloths and/or napkins to keep the feel and have everything flow with one another. Flower selections should include textured foliage such as dusty miller and brunia balls mixed with green foliage and white roses and ranunculus.

THE COUPLE: Kelly + Patrick
PALETTE: Blush and navy. Patrick really wanted a navy suit and I loved the colour of the bridesmaid dresses!
THE DRESS: My gown featured ivory embroidered tulle, including roses spun with metallic thread. The bodice encompassed a sweetheart neckline, satin underlay with sheer lace outer layer, embroidered roses around the boat neckline, sheer lace cap sleeves and pearl buttons lining the back. The dress cinched in at the waist, wrapped with a satin ribbon belt that tied into a classic bow and flowed onto a soft draped A-line skirt.
THE CEREMONY + RECEPTION: We chose Longview Vineyard because of its truly stunning surroundings, including beautiful rolling hills, vineyards, old gum trees and superb gardens. We met the cellar door staff on our first visit and they made planning and holding the wedding such a breeze. They are willing to go the extra mile for you, have a wealth of experience in hosting weddings and most importantly they’re friendly, easy going and fun to work with.
THE DÉCOR: For ceremony decor we utilised our own white double doors and picket fence and decorated them with two beautiful, natural and overgrown foliage garlands consisting of berries and blooms. For aisle pews, flowers were arranged in antique jars and decorated with burlap and lace. Fresh rose petals in mixed pale tones were also lightly scattered down the aisle. We designed and made a lot of the aspects of the day ourselves, including the drinks and food menus and chalk boards. My mother’s wedding dress was on display (I wanted to wear it, however it was way too small for me!). We also placed framed pictures of family members from their own wedding days across a nearby table, which we felt was a reminder of where we have both come from and honoured the special place that family has in our hearts.
THE FLOWERS: My bouquet was so beautiful and feminine, possessing a fresh ‘garden picked’ feel. It incorporated David Austin roses, O’Hara roses, coral charm peonies, Queen Anne’s lace, scabiosa, lisianthus and berries, in tones of blush pink, ivory, white, peach, blonde, dusty green and pops of coral. Olive, ivy berry, silver dollar and lambs ear were used as foliage fillers. Long flowing antique lace and hand dyed French silk bound the stems. Tied to my bouquet were my grandmother’s and great grandmother’s wedding rings, which was a way for me to have lost loved ones a part of the special day.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Kelsey photographed our friend’s wedding and we had an absolute ball with her on their special day. We also loved Kelsey’s finished products and that was all we needed to confirm that the bright, bubbly and supremely happy Kelsey would be the one to catch all the memories from our day. She was able to make us feel at ease, had fantastic ideas and was a smiling, friendly face on the other side of the camera. She is truly fabulous!

Nothing exudes romance quite like a mix of rich and royal berry tones. This pretty palette blooms with organic textures and rustic accents, the perfect combination for an autumn enchantment. Experiment, mix and match with warm hues of purples, reds and dusky, deep reds – taking homage to the dainty berries in season.

Be inspired by the outdoors and all that nature has to offer – moss is a wonderfully versatile décor element to utilise throughout your wedding for a lush, woodland feel. Faux or the real deal, your guests will feel as though they are walking amidst a beautiful rainforest. Moss looks beautiful suspended on a lampshade or even birdcages for a visual display that that fuses natural and industrial elements together. Peruse over all the beautiful ways you can incorporate this natural element into your arrangements…
An artful set of initials or even a sentimental message of love make for a personal focal point in your décor – simply cover wooden letters with moss and add clusters of anemones, helleboruses, and jasmine leaves for a sweet flourish. If you want something a little more subtle, moss covered table numbers are the way to go. They look beautiful sanding on their own or covered in a bell jar or terrarium for added oomph.

There is something striking and special about a loft – whether it’s the exposed brick walling or the wrought iron and wooden beam roofing, it is the ideal venue for brides looking for something different. The key to executing aloft-wedding is to aim for modern style and balance the industrial or rustic architecture in the room. Contrary to what many think, not all loft spaces give off that industrial type feel – although we LOVE it- a white loft space is the perfect blank canvas to create the wedding of your dreams. All the inspiration you need is right here…
The brick walling of a loft looks magical behind strung lights and candles while the high ceilings make for some glamorous drapery and out-of-this world chandeliers for that added sophistication. If a loft venue is what you are after and you manage to score one with ceiling windows, you’ve hit the jackpot. Take full advantage of the generous lighting pouring into the room and begin your festivities earlier in the day – your photographer will love you for it!

THE COUPLE: Timothy + Kristen
PALETTE: Black, white, silver and gold. We wanted a mix of masculinity and elegance.
THE SUITS: Our suits were tailor made. I wore a black dinner suit with a full satin lapel, white shirt, bowtie and Prada shoes. Timothy wore a black herringbone suit with satin trim, white shirt, black satin tie and Christian Louboutin shoes.
THE CEREMONY: Our garden ceremony was detached, private and lush yet perfectly central in location. The set up of the beautiful park was everything we wanted. We chose Americana chairs and a black aisle runner. Timothy's father built the gazebo frame we were married under.
THE RECEPTION: We were the first same sex couple to have a wedding at our reception venue and the team went above and beyond to surpass any expectations. They allowed us to bring the lush greenery into their centre and transform the premises into an indoor garden.
THE DÉCOR: Tiziana and Adriana from the Bizzarro team were amazing. Open-air structures were built over sixteen tables and covered with fresh peppercorn branches to give the guest seating an intimate, outdoor gazebo feel. The remaining tables were decorated with custom-built trees to continue the 'indoor garden' theme. Each table was covered with floating candles placed in silver, gold and clear votives. We scattered candles across our table, which was also backed by box brush screening, man made trees and our signature 'TK' logo in the centre.
THE FLOWERS: Timothy, the groomsmen and myself wore black and white poppy boutonnieres. The girls held a single white peony bouquet and our parents wore phalaenopsis orchid boutonnieres and custom corsages.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We were flicking through an issue of Brides of Adelaide Magazine and came across B Captured by Ky Luu's advertisement. After seeing his incredible work, Timothy and I both agreed that he was it. We left Ky in complete artistic control and just followed his direction. We trusted his opinion and it truly worked in our favour. Our photos are a true testament as to how talented Ky is. He captured the most intimate and precious moments of the day whilst making us feel comfortable and relaxed, no matter what the setting. His dedication to his job is second to none.

Autumn wedding inspiration at its best! It’s time for traditional burnt oranges and reds to move over for a new player in town, the rich colours of ripe fruit. THE COUPLE: Vanessa + Nick
PALETTE: White and silver for a fresh, sophisticated and elegant setting.
THE DRESS: I was lucky enough to wear two gorgeous gowns for my wedding, which were equally elegant and timeless. The ceremony gown was a very classic, off the shoulder style made from an ivory Mikado silk with a long train and button detail. The reception dress was a strapless, sequined design with a layered 'mermaid' silhouette at the bottom.
THE CEREMONY: We both instantly fell in love with our venue, booking it within a week of our engagement! The location's outside area was perfect for the ceremony given we wanted to be outdoors, and the reception space was the ideal blank canvas for decorative touches that would make it our own. We married beneath a gorgeous lined marquee with an extra large gold crystal chandelier suspended above us. The aisle had two heavy set runs of white freeze dried rose petals to line the length of the chair rows and create an illusion of a lawn carpet.Studio Botanic also arranged two large vases of white chrysanthemums, white tulips, and white roses on white plinths, carpeted with blooms.
THE DÉCOR: For the bridal table we chose an exquisite row of rectangular vases with white pillar candles and rock salts sitting back-to-back down the entire length of the table, with space left in between to hold the bouquets. An amazing and full carpet of chrysanthemums in two large varieties, double tulips and white roses held in mirrored, rectangular vases sat down the entire length of the guest tables. Between each vase was a smaller glass vase with a bed of white rock salts and white pillar candles. We also had overhead floral arrangements, including clusters of rounded 'chandelier shaped structures' made entirely of flowers and greenery and held up by an ivy trail. The chains holding up the surrounding chandeliers were also wrapped in ivy.
THE FLOWERS: I carried a simple and elegant bouquet of white roses bound with fabric from my gown and finished with a row of pearl pins to match the back of my dress.
PHOTOGRAPHER: After meeting with James and seeing what a fun, relaxed and happy person he is, we didn't look any further. We really wanted a photographer that took natural looking photos, and also had an eye for stunning backgrounds and settings.

It’s the simple things in life, and who knew that something as simple as a frame could create such a stunning impact on your wedding décor. Whether you opt for a plain rustic wooden frame, or something a little more ornate, frames re fun and fabulous details – especially since there are so many ways to incorporate them.
When there is a need of a focal point frames don’t disappoint. Hang some frames to create an interesting background for your ceremony or suspend them above your bridal table for a multidimensional effect. You can also place the frames flat around your centrepiece – or for something a little more creative, use them around the bases of your dessert cakes!
Communicate with your guests and utilise frames for everything from welcome signs to menus, labels and seating charts. Use a framed mirror, chalkboard or even a glass frame and simply write with a chalk texture or window marker.
A wedding dress is something a bride will wear once and keep in the back of her closet. Here’s a thought – why not display your wedding dress in a framed shadow box, that way you and all your guests can admire it for years to come.

Weddings are about bringing friends and family together for a celebration filled with fun, laughter and good times. While hubby-to-be and yourself are off on a romantic photo-shoot, keep the good times going for your guests and provide them with a variety of super-fun lawn games to keep them occupied. There is no better way to get guests chatting and laughing with one another as they toss, jump and putt their way to fast friends!
Lawn games also make for the perfect post-nuptial breakfast/brunch entertainment for the day after the wedding. Oh, and did we mention it's a good way to keep the kids entertained for hours!

You've been envisioning your wedding dress since you were a little girl. The wedding dress you wear walking down the aisle will be the centrepiece of your special day. It will also probably be the most talked about fashion item you will ever wear. Here is some wedding dress shopping advice to get you in the know before you go…
9 to 12 months before your wedding is the ideal time to start shopping
for your wedding dress. Unless you purchase a ready-to-wear dress that
fits you perfectly as soon as you try it on, wedding dresses are
generally required to be altered - usually a number of times over a six
month period, until they fit ‘just right’. If you have less than 6
months before your wedding, you will need to be more flexible about your
choice of wedding dress.
Visit Boutiques. Bridal boutiques are great places to shop for ideas. They carry a wide selection of gowns from a variety of designers. Try to limit your shopping to 5 or 6 boutiques and take along a notebook to jot down the details of the gowns that you like. If possible, avoid the busiest times such as weekends and evenings, so that you can receive more personalised attention.
Seek Recommendations. Word-of-mouth recommendations are the best form of advertising in any industry and a beautifully designed wedding dress is admired for a long time. Ask past brides which stores/designers/couturiers create beautiful designs, provide excellent service, attention to detail and great styling advice.
Match Your Budget. Investigate which stores best suit your budget. Whilst stores stock wedding gowns under $1000, designer stores start at $3000. Save yourself time by making an enquiry prior to making an appointment.
Take In A Trunk Show. Wedding dress stores also conduct special events such as trunk shows. At trunk shows, a particular designer (or representative store) exhibits the latest collections for brides to view and try on. Trunk shows are the best way of viewing all the wedding dresses in the collection, rather than a selected few stocked by the store. Some trunk shows also provide the opportunity to meet the designer in person and get their invaluable advise on the best look for you.
Speak The Speak. Wedding dress shopping is a whole new world, with its own special language. Before you even start visiting bridal stores, familiarise yourself with the gown and all of its parts; neckline, waistline, sleeve, skirt style, fabric, embellishments, train etc. Research the basic wedding dress silhouettes and try to determine which ones best suit your body.
Set your style. Consider the style, formality and location of your ceremony. Your wedding dress should compliment the location, time and season of your ceremony. A full length gown with a 2 metre train will simply look out of place at a cocktail garden party or a beach wedding. Envision yourself walking down the aisle in front of all your friends and loved ones and think about what suits your style and character. Write down 5 words that best describe you (for example classical, princess, bohemian or sophisticated). These adjectives will assist you in making wedding fashion selections for your dress, accessories and hair style.
Source A Good Salesperson. A good salesperson will ask you what type of wedding you're having, how you envision yourself looking on your special day and what styles of wedding dresses you like. A better salesperson will also identify what wedding dress style will look best on you based on your body type. Listen carefully to a salesperson's expertise - they work closely with brides on a daily basis. Value their advice and keep an open mind. If they bring you something on a hanger that doesn’t inspire you, try it on anyway. Even though certain wedding dress silhouettes look best on certain body types, try on different styles of wedding dresses and then decide what shapes and styles look best on you and which ones you feel most comfortable wearing. Trust your instincts.
Don’t buy the first wedding dress you try on - even if you think it is
perfect. Give yourself time to look around at other stores and think
about it more away from the store - just to be absolutely sure that you
have found the right one. You can always go back again.
Dare To Be Different. If you are having a truly unique wedding gown designed for you by an exclusive bridal couturier, the sky is the limit! Your one-off designer wedding dress will be the talk of the town and will not be seen on any other bride. Your wedding dress will be as individual as you are. If you are shopping for a ready-to wear wedding dress, don’t feel that you are restricted to what is on the hanger. In most cases, you can still add your own personal touches to a ready-to-wear dress. If you like the skirt on one wedding dress and the bodice of another, alterations can usually be accommodated (if both dresses are produced by the same designer). Embellishments such as lace and beads can also be added or removed, however remember that the more you change, the more costly your wedding dress will become.
The Search Is Over. You have found your dream dress, you look amazing in it, take a deep breath and savour the moment!

Blended families or couples who already have children together are somewhat the ‘norm’ these days rather than the exception, so it’s a no-brainer that you want to include the kids in the wedding. It is important to find a special way to incorporate them involve them wedding so they feel like they are an actual part of the marriage. Of course it is lovely to have the as part of the wedding party, but it isn’t your only option - here are some of our favourite ways to include your children into the wedding…
If you’re having a traditional wedding then there is no reason to find an alternative way to include your kids – the kid friendly role of flower girl and/or ring bearer is simple, fun and always a crowd-pleaser. If that’s not your style, why not have them open the ceremony by walking down the aisle holding a sign, banner or whatever you want to include.
Why not include your children in the ceremony itself. If you’re having a sand ceremony, why not extend it to include some sand for your kids and let them pour some into a bigger jar – it will look perfect on your mantel place in your house. If your kids are old enough, let them have a say in the ceremony with a super adorable “we do” vow moment – what a super cute way to seal the deal.
Halfway through your first dance, why not have the kids cut in and join?! Not only does this include them in the reception, but it is such a special moment and makes for the perfect photo opportunity. Add a few of their favourite jams to the DJ’s playlist and watch them boogie with excitement.
A quirky and super adorable way to include the kids is to have a family cake topper rather than a bride and groom. If it’s a larger family, why not work with your cake supplier to create a wedding cake that involves everyone and shows off the family.
its time to get crafty! This is the perfect fun way that kids can contribute to the wedding – DIY craft projects. Have them help you create wedding favours, place cards, kids activities or even centrepieces – it doesn’t matter if its not perfect, it makes them feel like they were part of creating the big day. If DIY projects aren’t on your wedding to-do list, than have kids take part in the decision-making process, why not have them choose the cake flavour or even take part in the design process.

Velvet is one of those chic elements that can transcend through every season with just a simple play on colour. For those summer vibes, beautiful bronze + blush crushed tones are the perfect hues to pull of velvet, while deeper, darker tones of marsala, emerald + blues compliment the chilly season.

THE COUPLE: Paige + Jake
PALETTE: Our colour palette was extremely bold, consisting of mainly orange, pink and yellow. Cameron and I are both very creative and wanted a distinctive element to our wedding. We are also quite outdoorsy, so we introduced earthy tones into the pops of colour.
THE DRESS: My gown was designed and built fro scratch. I was looking for something that suited my personality and was distinct from the traditional bridal gowns. I wanted a backless sequined, 'figure hugging' style with am air of sophistication. My train was hand sewn ruffled lace fabric.
THE CEREMONY: Over two years ago we ventured to the Adelaide Hills for a day trip to the wineries. As soon as we drove into the venue, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. That overwhelming feeling of 'this is it'. Our ceremony décor was quite refined, as we wanted our family and friends to admire the natural beauty of the location. We chose white Americana chairs for guest seating and a wine barrel for our celebrant to utilise. Cameron and I also had an entertaining 'open photo booth' for guests to enjoy once the ceremony was over. It was a mini Jeep Wrangler with a personalised stamp of our names, wedding date and 'Just Married' printed on the side.
THE DÉCOR: All our decor was supplied by Olive You Occasions, including personalised items such as milk bottles, 'C & P' letters on our table, wine barrel toppers with our wedding logo, two little orange tea light hippos, humorous books about love and friendship and an eclectic hand painted wooden family. There were also orange espresso cups which were used as tea light holders, wooden photo frames, yellow and orange vases and jugs, a 'mini Jeep Wrangler open photo booth', giant pink balloons with ribbon, white ornament birds and a white 'LOVE' sign. All of our signs and stationery such as menu, program, 'thankyou' and instagram signs and unique table seating chart were designed and printed by Olive You Occasions.
THE FLOWERS: Flower arrangements were a distinct feature of our wedding, there were colourful displays placed in milk bottles and vases at the reception, and a breathtaking hanging floral swing suspended from the ceiling above guest seating.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Cameron and I chose Jade Norwood as our photographer. We were looking for a fun, personal and natural photography resulting in images that reflected our relationship and personalities. Cameron and I had our engagement shoot with Jade, which was very relaxed, and the photos turned out incredible.

Lush colours create a far away land full of little details and lovely fabrics. These pastel combinations are fit for a fairy or perhaps just a bride with superb taste. We've chosen a sweet palette of pinks, reds and golds for our 'xoxo' style, as a tribute to love. Of course, you could use any colour palette that takes your fancy as it's easy to create some 'xoxo' elements. These gold cake toppers are simple and adorable, providing guests with not only a piece of cake, but also a very special kiss and hug. If you can, incorporate 'xoxo' into your wedding stationery, from invitations to menus, to ensure consistency across your styling. "XO" helium filled balloons are the perfect photography prop - use them creatively to create the most adorable pics. Chocolate kisses are an ideal bonbonniere choice (because honestly, who doesn't love chocolate and kisses? Even better combined!).

THE COUPLE: CATERINA + CORY
THE GUESTS: 110
PALETTE: White, gold, black and coral.
THE DRESS: My gorgeous gown was designed and created by Liz from Eliza French. I really trusted Liz’s vision and expertise and she guided me through the entire process. We worked together to produce something truly special and I was extremely happy with the final result. My gown was a white silk organza design with a French lace and nude underlay.
THE CEREMONY: We loved the idea of walking from the ceremony to the reception with our guests. After discovering our reception venue, we looked at the surrounding parklands. Cory and I chose a beautiful grassed area with an iconic Adelaide backdrop to highlight our love of the city. The location offered a pleasant walk along the River Torrens with views of the Adelaide Convention Centre, Festival Theatre, and new Torrens footbridge.
THE RECEPTION: Cory and I chose Glen Ewin Estate for their outstanding food, perfect city centre location and unique ambiance and atmosphere, mingling with other guests while the bridal party went for photos.
THE DECOR: We chose gorgeous Moroccan lanterns that perched above the bridal table. Our florist pieced together a breathtaking floral arrangement to complement the incredible lighting display. The feature completely took my breath away. The number of stems and the density of the flowers were above and beyond what I had expected. We also scattered Moroccan-inspired vessels and candle holders with bunches of flowers to complete the look.
THE FLOWERS: The floral arrangements consisted of David Austin roses, dahlias and blackberries.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Cory and I were looking for a good balance between candid and posed shots. We chose Kim from Panache Photography for his bubbly and enthusiastic nature. Kim was super efficient, lots of fun and had a great eye for detail. It was clear Kim was very experienced and provided exceptional ideas and guidance for photos, locations and timelines.

THE COUPLE: Kristine + Leeham
PALETTE: The girls wore varying shades of red and pink in their lipstick and carried bright colours through their bouquets.
THE DRESS: My dress was custom made. After trying on so many dresses I realised I wanted something that I could look back on and love! Most importantly I wanted to feel comfortable and beautiful in my dress. My gown was low back with a fitted bust and a unique lace over the bodice. The gown flowed out at the waist, just below a beautiful belt. It was designed perfectly and the staff really catered to everything I wanted. I also had a two meter detachable train. It was great having the option to take it off so I could dance and move around freely without holding onto it all night!
THE CEREMONY: I always dreamed of a wedding in a beautiful old church. This was something I had my heart set on from when Leeham proposed. It was really amazing seeing the church doors open and Leeham standing at the alter, and saying our vows to each other in front of all our family and friends. The church was absolutely lovely and had such a nice warm feeling. They were also very accommodating to our choice of music and flowers.
THE RECEPTION: We heard amazing reviews of the venue. Leeham and I looked at a few different function rooms, however this venue really catered to anything and everything we wanted, making the entire process so easy. Once we went through all the special features the reception could offer us we both knew we wanted to have our reception there.
THE DECOR: We placed flowers down the aisle and tulle hanging from row to row with additional flowers on a pedestal. The fresh flowers added so much colour, life and a hint of the outdoors to the church ceremony. The ceremony venue was located on amazing grounds to capture some great photos! The centrepieces for the tables were flowers. We had a cone vase with a slightly unstructured large ball of flowers on top. This consisted of cream vendella roses, white ecuador roses, white lisianthus and a touch of greenery. The vase was placed on a mirrored base surrounded by three crystal tea lights. We had chandeliers and a backdrop for the bridal table, as well as Rococo white chairs. We included up lighting, fireworks and dry ice.
THE FLOWERS: The bouquets consisted of soft pink roses, with a darker pink rose and white lisianthus, cream vendella rose, green lisianthus, a small touch of the black privet berry and gum leaf.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We wanted traditional elegance with a modern feel. We were seeking some timelessly romantic photos, but at the same time wanted a few fun group shots as well. We heard really good reviews about the work of Photos Xposed Photography and when we went to meet them we got along so well. Leeham and I loved their professionalism and their willingness to take on our ideas.

THE COUPLE: Rechelle + Michael
PALETTE: Pale pinks, soft pastels with other neutral shades.
THE DRESS: Originally I wanted a simple lace design, however I ended up choosing a fitted strapless full lace ‘mermaid’ style gown. This style suited my body perfectly. I also added sheer straps and had the dress lowered at the back..
THE CEREMONY: As soon as we walked through the venue we fell in love. There were peacocks and chickens wandering, butterflies in the garden and an abundance of gorgeous flowers. It was naturally beautiful with a very relaxed feel. After the ceremony we treated guests to drinks and canapés on the grassed area where there were lawn games, a swing, tables, lounge chairs, a wheelbarrow filled with water bottles, a guest book table with an old typewriter and an array of flower-filled jars.
THE RECEPTION: Michael and I were looking for something unique. The location had a beautiful French provincial style barn with grand mirrors wrapping around the interior walls. It was beautifully rustic and alternative which we loved. We also wanted our ceremony and reception in the one location.
THE DÉCOR: Our seating chart was a large vintage glass window and we also offered an assortment of ‘flip flops’ for those ladies who wanted to kick off their heels and a basket of blankets for anyone who was feeling the weather. We chose a long table setting with white linen, silver glassware, white plates and gold Chiavari chairs for our reception. The candles were rustic gold and crystal in all different sizes and were beautifully scattered down the table. Accompanying greenery mingled through the centre of the table and surrounded the candles, including olive tree branches and varying shades of pale pink and cream roses.
THE FLOWERS: My bouquet was an unstructured design with a mixture of pastels and bright-coloured blooms. The flowers included pink lisianthus, David Austin ‘Juliet’ roses and greenery bound with ivory ribbon. Rose petals were scattered down the aisle and similar florals were used to decorate the tables, outdoor swing, as well as my hair accessory. Michael’s buttonhole was made up of silver suede, greenery and freesia.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We were looking for attention to detail with beautiful light imagery that could really capture the moment. We chose Kelsey from Elevation Photography. I received Kelsey’s details through a friend’s recommendation. As soon as we met, we just ‘clicked’, almost as though we had known each other for years. I looked through her photographs and absolutely loved them. I would highly recommend her; she made the day so enjoyable and Michael and I were very relaxed.

Watermelon is practically the unofficial fruit of summer, which means it is the perfect fruit for a crowd-pleasing cocktail. Garnish the cocktail with sprigs of fresh mint + spears of watermelon. This recipe is simple enough to make in bulk, making it perfect for large weddings.
INGREDIENTS [makes 8 drinks]
30 large fresh mint leaves
4 thick slices fresh watermelon, seeds and rind removed
1 1/4 cup light rum, such as Bacardi
1/2 cup sugar syrup
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (3 limes)
Sprigs of mint + spears of watermelon, for serving
1.Use a mortar + pestle to mash the mint leaves - you can add a little sugar to help break up the leaves + get the oils from the mint extracted.
2.Remove and discard the rind and seeds of the watermelon. Place the watermelon, rum, sugar syrup and lime juice in a blender + blend until smooth. Stir to get the froth to go down.
3.Put the mashed mint into a large pitcher + add in the watermelon mixture. Stir to combine the mint with the juice.
4.Place ice cubes in glasses and pour the mojito mixture into the glasses. Garnish with sprigs of fresh mint and spears of watermelon.
Who doesn’t enjoy a good margarita on a balmy night – especially when it is mixed with fresh + mild cucumber! This awesome flavour combination is reminiscent of a tropical island paradise + will keep your guest coming back for more. Serve on the rocks or try blending with ice for a daiquiri feel.
INGREDIENTS [makes 1 pitcher]
3 cucumbers, peeled + roughly chopped
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup tequila
2 tablespoons triple sec
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 jalapeño, sliced
2 tablespoons Maldon sea salt
2 teaspoons white granulated sugar
1-teaspoon fresh lime zest
1.Add the chopped cucumber to a food processor + pulse until the mixture turns smooth. Run the puree through a sieve + you should end up with 1 1/2 cup of cucumber juice; set aside.
2.In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat on medium low until the sugar dissolves.
3.To a pitcher, mix together the cucumber juice, tequila, triple sec, lime juice + jalapeño. Add half of the sugar syrup and do a taste test + adjust according to taste
4.Transfer to the refrigerator so the jalapeño has time to spice the mixture. Check the mixture every 15-20 minutes + do a taste test.
5.On a plate, mix together the salt, sugar + lime zest. Run a lime around the edge of the glasses to moisten; dip the rims in the salt + sugar mixture. Add a few ice cubes to each glass and divide the margarita mixture between the glasses. Garnish with a few slices of jalapeño or lime or even a few slices of cucumber.

THE COUPLE: Rebecca + Brett
THE PALETTE: We chose a beach theme because we both love the sea and sand. It is also very relaxing and calming. We ultimately wanted a wedding that included our closest family and friends, featuring stunning flowers, great music and brilliant food and wine.
THE DRESS: I was looking for an elegant, fitted gown with intricate beading and lace. I opted for an off white bodice with lace and beading over the top. I designed my gown and it was a very special experience. I am so in love with my dress. It was a one shouldered fitted gown featuring French lace and beading. Layers of tulle were placed towards the bottom of the gown to give a softened look, which perfectly complemented the beach theme.
THE CEREMONY: It was a beautiful spot looking out to the water. We wanted our guests to be able to see the water behind us during the ceremony. We also live locally and it is a special location for us
THE RECEPTION: We were looking for a modern location overlooking the beach, and of course fantastic food and a great wine list. We had dined there before and the food was amazing. We were able to utilise the balcony area for canapés and drinks after the wedding ceremony, and also design a beautiful three-course meal to our liking.
THE DÉCOR: The table centrepieces were a very unique design featuring orchids in a long husk, to complement the long tables. My ceremony had a bamboo backdrop with orchids and tulle attached, which was later placed as a backdrop to the bridal table.
THE FLOWERS: My bridal bouquet consisted of large white phalaenopsis and Singapore orchids in a cascading waterfall design. The bridesmaid’s bouquets were the same as mine but smaller in size.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We were looking for modern, fresh photography. Daniel Kalisz is a very close friend of ours and a brilliant photographer. He also previously photographed our baby daughter for us.

A gorgeous balmy night spent under the stars singing, dancing + celebrating - it’s time to draw inspiration from traditional European courtyard ceremony and receptions – and ladies this is a trend we just LOVE! The beauty of a courtyard wedding is that you have the ability to go as formal or informal as you like – a three-course dinner or canapés + share plates – the choice is all yours. A courtyard is a blank canvas so this is your perfect excuse to play with theming + lighting; the possibilities are endless from glamorous chandeliers to festoon lights. Don’t forget to let your guests know they will be dining al fresco, we all know that ‘sinking feeling’ when we wear stilettos on soft + uneven surfaces.

It’s the day young girls spend their childhood planning. But like all young girls, we didn’t realise the hard – but fun + totally worth it– work that actually went into planning every detail of a wedding. Which brings me to my point – take a seat + let's talk wedding reception set-up, or more specifically - how do you choose between using long or round tables?! The answer? Well you’re a bride, decisions don’t come easy, but hopefully we can make it a little easier for you.
The vibe of your wedding reception greatly depends on how the evening is organised + one of the easiest ways to make your party feel welcoming + warm is with your wedding tables. Don’t doubt its ability to transform your venue of choice ladies – whether you’re having an intimate setting or a lavish affair, your set-up + styling plays a major role.
The three magic words when it comes to influencing your table design decision; say it with me ladies - venue size, centrepiece + interaction! Consider the sizing of the venue + which table style would allow you to efficiently utilise the space, along with what centrepiece design you are crushing over.
This one is the classic choice, if you are trying to achieve that timeless feel then this is definitely the way to go. As long as your centrepieces are cooperating, your guests can easily mingle with one another across the table, along with those seated to their left + right. Each round table takes a single centrepiece + round table cloths are easily accessible, coming in many sizes + colours – hello money saver!!
For a less traditional look, try mixing small + large sized tables for an eclectic feel + this way you can accommodate for the different sized groups on your guest list - it’s a win-win for everyone. One downside however, in a smaller space it is much harder to fit a large number of round tables as they don’t neatly fit against straight-edged walls + corners. So if you are short on space, this may not be the option for you + beau.
The long rectangle table is your more modern choice + a formal dining dream which has gained popularity amongst brides + grooms. Mingling opportunities for your guests are about the same as those on a round table – although those at either end of the table might have to shout to engage with one another. Creating a regally intimate atmosphere, the straightedges modernize these tables + work really well in both larger + smaller spaces.
We recommend choosing a few smaller, but striking centrepieces [taper candles, foliage runners] placed in a row down the centre of the table or why not try a hanging centrepiece filled with luscious foliage + florals. This style however may be a little annoying for those guests who are seated towards the middle of the table. Why? Could you imagine walking around the whole table just to use the bathroom or boogie it down on the dance floor. If a guest cancels last minute or is a no show, then the seating chart gets little thrown off and can be noticed as an empty seat.
BOA TIP: If you honestly cannot decide over both of these gorgeous options, why not combine both? We are all for bending the rules of tradition, who says you need just one table type – not us! There’s room for all of them at your table [pun intended].

We have once again been served a fashionably glorious helping of gorgeous glamour + swoon worthy gowns. taking fashion notes from the starts has never been so easy; feast your eyes on the BOA teams top pick’s for bridal looks.
Bombshell Sofia Vergara did not disappoint [as always] donning a gorgeous gold strapless structured gown by designer St. John with a mermaid finish, she was the epitome of sexy – the girl can do no wrong! America’s sweetheart Emma Roberts stunned in a plunging off-white Jenny Packham custom creation paired with a double chain wrapped around her neck.
Giuliana Rancic’s screamed sophisticated in a soft pastel pink embellished gown, which sat off the shoulder baring a little skin. She complimented her look with simple centre-parted loose waves – the perfect bridal hair.
What’s a red carpet without a little colour?! Turning heads, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland dared in a glamorous wine-coloured Zac Posen with a dramatic collar - sealing the deal on her impressive style credentials once and for all!
Petite brunette, Yael Stone, opted for a structured silhouette in a pale pink teamed with a not so structured up-do which finished her look off perfectly. Although the gown was a classic shape of a structured bodice + full skirt, Yael added a modern + fun twist, opting to create the dress out of thick netted material and we agree!
And of course, we couldn’t go without mentioning Joanna Newsom in her fashion-forward Delpozo Spring 15 gown. She looked stunning in a unique, structural pink gown with a glittery floral bodice that highlighted her slim waist, which she paired with a deep pink lip. So, it's a week before your wedding. You're nervous, you're excited and perhaps feeling slightly overwhelmed with all the little details - in the midst of it all, it's possible you might forget the important last-minute duties. Deep breaths girls! We've got you covered with these TEN things to consider doing before your wedding (where you'll notice that we loooove lists!).
1. Go over your timeline for the wedding and triple check everything! It's probably right (you've been organised during the lead-up using our free online interactive planning tools, haven't you!) but this allows time for any last minutes fixes and if anything, will guarantee you peace of mind (and a good night’s sleep the night before your wedding).
2. Check your reservations for the hotel the night before your wedding and for your honeymoon flight if you’ll be embarking on one – better to be safe than sorry!
3. Organise your accessories, décor and items needed to be transported. We recommend that you create a checklist or inventory of items and that way NO ONE leaves on the morning of the big day until everything is checked off. We’ve heard some stories of all sorts of items getting left behind and we’d hate for it to happen to you! If you’re staying at accommodation the night before the wedding, ensure everything is checked and with you before you leave home.
4. Read through your wedding vows – you’ll feel much more relaxed if you feel well-versed in what you are going to say. Give it the go over in front of girlfriends or the mirror to banish any last minute nerves.
5. Send out last-minute reminders. If you are relying on family members or friends to bring anything (cake, flowers, a piece of jewellery etc) send out a simple text for ultimate peace of mind. It’s a good idea to have a checklist of these items too, so you know who to send reminders to.
6. Send an overnight bag to the hotel – if you’re going straight from the wedding to the hotel room, have a friend check you in at the hotel and drop off your supplies. If you can’t check in sooner, have a bridesmaid or friend be responsible for bringing your bag to the wedding and finding a safe spot for it (or keep it in the limo or boot if you have the same car for the day and night). Also ensure there’s a hanger or bag waiting at the hotel to keep your wedding dress safe! Tip: create a checklist before you pack so you ensure all items are included. Yes, we’re a big fan of lists!
7. Double-check you’ve organised someone to take home your things after the reception, including gifts AND mementos (guest book, cake topper, toasting flutes etc) and leftover cake and bomboniere.
8. Ensure you’ve made day-after plans – if you’re leaving for your honeymoon straight from the hotel, make arrangements for a car service to take you to the airport. Make sure you have your PASSPORT or make a checklist (YES). If you’re heading home after the hotel, perhaps park your car at the hotel before the wedding if you’re allowed.
9. Contact suppliers, double check their arrival times, send them a schedule of the day along with travel information and give them a main point of contact outside of the bridal party so you’re not interrupted during your special day.
10. WEAR YOUR SHOES IN. By the time you've been wearing them all day and are ready to get down on the dance-floor, we promise you will be thankful.

Paper mache numbers can be picked up from your local craft store and faux hedge or grass is easily found at discount stores (or perhaps your craft store also). Next, cut your hedge mat into pieces that can be placed into your numbers. Fix them with glue if necessary. Voila - it's that simple! create some long centrepieces to go along the table for a cohesive style.

Summer weddings are fabulous - the atmosphere is vibrant, fun and relaxed. The sky is blue, the sun is shining and guests are basking in the warmth of our Southern Hemisphere glow! Australia can get a little hot in the summer months, but don't worry - we've got plenty of ideas that will beat the heat and keep your guests cool enough to enjoy the celebrations!....
We love the idea of using plastic sunglasses as bomboniere! Place a pair on each of your guests' seats, or create a basket full of them for guests to grab. A sign such as 'Don't be blinded by our love!' is a cute touch and the glasses are a fun photo prop too!
Take advantage of the plethora of delicious, juicy fresh fruit on offer in the summer months and provide plenty of fruity goodness for your guests. Trays of cut-up oranges and watermelon are great refreshments for post-ceremony drinks, or to even provide while guests wait for the bride to arrive! Yum!
It's a thoughtful (and probably vital) idea to provide water for guests if you're having a summer ceremony. Buckets full of ice with water bottles in them are great for family and friends to grab and keep hydrated throughout the day. You can even get personalised labels on the bottles - "Lauren + James' Wedding 2013" is a cute touch.
Mason jars of icy cocktails are also great to provide to guests! Cold beers, fruity slushies and popsicles dipped in champagne will have your guests grinning from ear to ear!
SHADE is vital! There's seriously nothing worse than enduring the hot sun with no escape - particularly in your Sunday best. Ensure there either marquees or umbrellas for your guests to retreat to the shade when they need it, or at least provide summer parasols or umbrellas.
Fans are also a small touch, but will mean the world to your guests. Place a cute fan on each guest's seat. It could be a vintage fan or a stationery fan that doubles as a program. Either way, please ensure your guests have them to stay cool. They'll make good use of them...trust us!
If you're having an outdoor wedding and you aren't opposed to a super relaxed vibe, provide thongs for your guests with a sign 'dancing shoes'. It's no secret that feet swell up during the hot weather...guests will enjoy kicking off their heels or formal shoes in favour of comfy thongs they can groove in all night.
Water pistols! If you're wedding falls on a particularly hot day or night, leave a miniature water pistol as bomboniere for guests. An end-of-the-night water fight will be SO much fun!

Have fun with this glamorous theme and deck out your space in the most extravagant of Hollywood style. For yourself, we recommend lush Hollywood curls, a striking crimson pout and a vintage-inspired gown. It's your opportunity to 'go all out' and dress-up like a Hollywood starlette. Incorporate feathers into the style, whether you pop one in your hair, or create large feather centrepieces. We love these feather escort cards, they're simple with a throwback to yesteryear.

This incredible, vibrant and fun-filled wedding by Photos Xposed remains one of our absolute favourites. Gorgeous Lisa is the epitome of a radiant bride and her infectious smile and energy is captured perfectly in the wonderful photos. Seb and Lisa’s ‘tropical beach island’ wedding at West Beach showed the pair’s love for the beach and remote locations in an elegant, yet relaxed way. They say they really wanted everyone to have a fantastic time and as the photos show…they made it happen! Join us as we take a peak into Seb and Lisa's wedding album...
As the beaming sun smiled down on Lisa and Seb during their beach ceremony, umbrellas and a four-post canopy with draping shaded guests. A guitarist played and palm leaves and rose petals created an aisle for Lisa, who looked beautiful in a simple strapless gown from Rapsimo. “I loved my dress when I first saw it but thought it may have been too much for me” says Lisa, “when I tried it on I just knew it was right! It was a flare strapless gown in a feminine and romantic fit with a lace bodice and a frilled neckline continuing down the centre front with a georgette layered skirt.”
The incredible beach-themed wedding décor was created with a lot of helping hands! Lisa’s mother spent many hours sourcing white lanterns, old bottles and glass plates! They found lanterns, bottles, and plates in op shops. Their florist sat white lanterns on a green palm leaf and surrounded them with the old bottles with different white flowers in them, the small glass plates and a tea-light candle. Seb purchased wood from a salvage yard that he driftwood stained and Lisa painted beach names that had an interesting story onto them. “The effect was intended to feel as if guests were on a tropical island”, explained Lisa.
Guests were treated to a rather sweet wedding favour. “Seb and I love fresh local produce and honey is a favourite in our house. We sourced beekeepers, who sold us honey by the kilogram and it was put in jars we supplied to them. Going for the honey tasting was great fun. The honey was a quality gift that was also very affordable. We know honey was the spread of choice after our wedding!”
Photos Xposed Photography was on hand to capture these incredible photos! “We needed our photographer to be easy-going and relaxed so that they could take amazing, natural photos with little fuss and posing. Photos Xposed Photography were friendly, accommodating and worked within the brief of what we wanted. They captured those moments we did not pose for and it is those shots we now dearly treasure”.

Silver and gold both look stunning with purple, so choose your preference and add some opulent metallic touches. Blackberries and champagne go together like you and your beau, so treat your guests little blackberry champagne cocktails to start the night.
Purple is a popular wedding colour, and it looks even better when you a have a theme in which it stems from. Scatter blackberries into your wedding decor to ensure consistency. Blackberry cupcakes are an excellent way to finish dessert and send guests home with a jar of blackberry jam as a tasty bomboniere gift.

Rachael and Michael met in high school at the tender age of fourteen! Their high-school romance began after six months of ‘love letters’ – Michael was a very persistent young man and did not give up until Rachael agreed to give him a chance and become his girlfriend! Lucky that she did…the pair have been inseparable ever since!
Together, Rachel and Michael created a traditional and intimate wedding using white with a bit of greenery and silver. Arriving in style, they hired three white Chevrolet Impalas from Chevrolet Impalas of Adelaide. They decorated their church pews with fresh flowers and organza bows and a wedding singer sang Ave Maria as Rachael made her way down the aisle. “The best part of the day”, says Rachael “was marrying my best friend and my soul mate. The whole day from start to finish was more than we could have ever wished for. Sharing our day with all the people we love meant a lot to us.”
Rachael’s exquisite Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal dress fit her like a glove. “I was looking for something dreamy and elegant that complemented my frame. My gown was soft lace and tulle with work from the bodice growing down godets of skirt. The long line bodice featured a sweetheart neckline. The beautiful lace featured textures of tiny petals throughout.” Rachael’s accessories were a gift from her mother and for her something old she wore her nanna’s ring, which was passed down and is very special to her.
Fabulous Functions did an amazing job of the flowers on the day, creating a selection of roses and lisianthus. The beautiful reception, held at the Hilton Adelaide, was decorated with tall cylinder vases in the centre of each table that were filled with white delphiniums and surrounded by romantic tea-light candles. Guests were treated to a gorgeous three-tier chocolate and raspberry wedding cake by Sugar & Spice Cakes and the lovely wedding invitations were printed by Invitations For All Occasions and handmade by Rachael and her mother.
Carla from Carla Micucci Photography did the most incredible job of capturing Rachael and Michael’s special day. “We were looking for natural shots, photos that would tell a story and leave us with all the beautiful memories from the day. That is exactly what we received!” said the couple. “We knew straight away when we met her and looked through her images that we wanted her to photograph our day. She made us feel at ease and is truly a beautiful person to deal with, nothing was too much trouble for her. She takes such pride in her work and we are truly blessed to have all of these beautiful images to keep and look back on.”

How cute are these bridal breakfast boxes? Perfect to give to your maids and helpers on the morning of your wedding to ensure everyone has something eat before the big day - and they can keep the jam as a sweet little gift! Alternatively, give them to guests who are party-ing til dawn! You can include your fav breakfast treat, though be mindful that they probably won't be kept in the fridge. We recommend croissants, breakfast bars, a piece of fruit, fresh bread and jam and a juice (a mini bottle of champagne to mix it with probably wouldn't go astray either...) xx
11 November 2013
Add a dash of fresh colour to your ceremony and line your aisle with mason jars of fresh flowers. Make the most of the spring months and the glorious flowers on offer - nothing beats exquisite blooms! These jars of flowers are so pretty and the best part is they can be re-used to decorate later at the reception, or to give away to guests as charming thankyous xx
8 November 2013
Why not double your seating plan as bomboniere gifts? These miniature bottles of champagne are a lovely way to thank your loved ones for celebrating your special day with you, and if you label each one individually, they can also be used as a seating plan! Guests should find their name, check their number and let the good times roll...
7 November 2013
We think these little question cards are a great idea! Place cards with a different question on each table at your reception and by the end of the night you will have lots of fun, creative and personal ideas from your guests to keep. "What should we do on date night?", "What's the secret to a happy marriage?" and "What's your favourite memory of the couple?" are just some cute questions for your guests. Some will warm your heart, some will be hilarious and some you will be able to put to good use. You will definitely enjoy reading them at a later date to see what your loved ones have come up with!
7 November 2013
We adore the way this couple has made their own ceremony backdrop by tying rope to flowers and hanging them upside down. It looks so romantic and whimsy - a great idea for outdoor weddings beneath large tree branches! xx

John and Christina met before they began Year Twelve, however it was not until Valentine’s Day years later, when Christina finished her uni degree, that John popped the question. “…We ended up at the Oak’s Plaza Pier and we checked into a room. We were putting our belongings down when John asked me to sit down. He presented me with a card and I began reading. As I read John began to play my favourite Beyonce song ‘Smash Into You’. I continued reading and was overjoyed with the memories and special moments from our relationship. Next the card read ‘John asked her how she thought the décor was’ – he then asked me to which I responded ‘very nice’, which was also written in the card. I continued to read and saw the line ‘John asked her to marry him and she said…” As I looked up he was bent on one knee with a red rose in his mouth. He then asked, “Will you marry me?” By this time I was crying in shock but of course I said yes!”
The classic colour palette was white and ivory with beautiful silver and oyster accents. The couple wanted to be able to look back on their wedding album and be happy with their choices fifty years from now, which is why they opted for white elegance and glamour. At the ceremony, the pair decorated with six white pedestals with cylindrical vases of carnation balls with hanging crystals that were evenly spaced along either side of the aisle. Leading up to the altar were four mirrored pedestals with cylindrical vases and large arrangements of gypsophila. Large white latex balloons lined the stairs leading into the chapel.
Christina shone and sparkled in a stunning Paolo Sebastian gown. “I was looking for a one off couture gown with the princess effect! You only get to wear a wedding gown once in your lifetime so it needed to have the WOW factor”, she explained. “After describing my vision, it was an amazing experience to work with Paolo Sebastian throughout the design process right up until he dressed me on the morning of my special day”. The magnificent gown featured seven layers in the skirt and included one hundred metres of the softest delicate imported French silk organza with a striking two-metre train. The bodice featured bold arrays of beaded Swarovski silver crystal lace.
Christina and John chose to hold their reception at Sfera’s Park Suites & Convention Centre, as they wanted a venue with a modern feel and they felt that the Starlight Grand Ballroom gave them just that. The reception was decorated with carnation ball floral arrangements in cylindrical vases with hanging crystals on round mirrors accompanied by hundreds of candles in various sized crystal and glass tea-light holders. Adelaide Flower House did a gorgeous job with the flowers, including Christina’s round posy bouquet of white peonies en masse with dusty miller.
A Swarvoski crystal theme continued throughout the wedding, including in the stationery from Invitations For All Occasions. “I enjoy doing craft and DIY and therefore began making invitation boxes, church booklets, menus and napkin holders which doubled as place cards. By the end we had embellished over ten-thousand individual Swarovski flat-back crystals onto our stationery!”
Luigi from Belle Photo was on hand to photograph the day; “we were after a contemporary yet artistic style of shooting and after meeting with Luigi we knew he could achieve this for us. Belle Photo have a passion for storytelling images and this was very important for us. Luigi also did my parents’ wedding photography so that was very special!” explains Christina. I Do Cinema immortalised the day in film. The couple chose the ‘Same Day Edit’, which they say featured stunning cinematic highlights.
