Those delicious smelling food trucks line up at least halfway down the block? They aren’t just for your lunch break anymore! They are the next big things in weddings and we LOVE! Budget friendly and such good food, you and your guests will be in for a treat. Here’s what you need to know…
If you’re planning an outdoor wedding, choosing a date that falls under the coldest months probably isn’t the best idea. You need to make sure your guests are comfortable standing outside waiting for their food, so late spring or summer would be the ideal time! Also, consider a seating space for your guests to enjoy their tasty treats.
The simpler the menu is, the better for the cooks and your guests to decide. This will eliminate any long lines and lengthy waits for all the hungry people camped out waiting for food. Make sure you have enough trucks to satisfy the number of guests at your wedding, about 1 every 80 guests.

So usually when you mention using skulls in your wedding décor people pull the funniest faces at the thought – it’s quite amusing to say the least – but we bet they have never seen them look this good! Inspired by an Alexander McQueen scarf that caught our eye here at the office, it combined girlie pink with edginess through the incorporation of the iconic Alexander McQueen skull. Ladies, we promise you, this post proves that, if need be, skulls can be incorporated into a wedding and still look bridal.
There are so many shapes, forms and sizes that skull heads come in! One of our absolute fave is using Swarovski encrusted skulls; they are girly, glam and look spectacular when paired with fresh florals and candles. Bell jars covering black skulls add an air of modern chicness to any centrepiece, especially when placed on a mirrored base. The key to pulling off skull décor is to keep the palette high-end and clean through the use of black, white, gold or even botanicals, the aim is to make them stand out.

A gorgeous balmy night spent under the stars singing, dancing + celebrating - it’s time to draw inspiration from traditional European courtyard ceremony and receptions – and ladies this is a trend we just LOVE! The beauty of a courtyard wedding is that you have the ability to go as formal or informal as you like – a three-course dinner or canapés + share plates – the choice is all yours. A courtyard is a blank canvas so this is your perfect excuse to play with theming + lighting; the possibilities are endless from glamorous chandeliers to festoon lights. Don’t forget to let your guests know they will be dining al fresco, we all know that ‘sinking feeling’ when we wear stilettos on soft + uneven surfaces.

Create beautiful memories prior to your wedding with family and friends in a creative and simply stunning engagement session. Relax in front of the camera and capture gorgeous images that reflect the love you and your partner share and the start of your romantic journey. Combining decor elements that will set the styling theme of your wedding, engagement sessions will create timeless keepsakes, favours or stationery in the lead up to your special day. A fun, enjoyable and artistic event, your engagement session is the perfect time to build a personal relationship with your photographer before your wedding day whilst capturing the celebration of the special proposal forever.
Melanie and Jordan's enchanting engagement soiree is a spectacular feast for the eyes with an array of lavish locations and backdrops in the Barossa Valley. Dainty details and pastel colours create the antique image of a whimsical love affair, dotted with handmade pieces, delicate florals and rustic wood. The couple, with Bree from Life In Still Photography, created a romantic visual story, with the soft hues of the colour palette gently introduced to each mismatched decoration. Handmade pinwheels, boutonniere, pink peonies and a lace tee pee provide a playful and soft ambiance to the chic styling.
Photographer Bree says that there are so many reasons why she recommends couples have an engagement shoot prior to their wedding day, “It is important to establish a relationship with your photographer, not only with meetings but by also having the opportunity to be in front of the camera prior to the wedding day so that you have an understanding and a better expectation of how things may be on the big day.” Once you receive your final images, you will be able to review your favourite style, look or pose in preparation for your wedding photos. Whether your images are are set amidst a beautiful run-down abandoned stone cottage or next to a lone pine tree, the natural, relaxed feel of the photos will be a reflection of the comfortable and personal relationship you will build with your photographer throughout your engagement session.
By creating these inspired images, you can expand your wedding portfolio and use the images for you wedding stationery, favours, guest signing book, ‘save the date’, or ‘thank you’ cards. "This time in a couple's life is all about celebration" explains Bree, "the decision to marry a life partner is a huge milestone in anyone's life and it's the perfect time to celebrate the love and connection they have for one another. There are an unlimited amount of locations to have an engagement session and sometimes it can also incorporate a place that has a special meaning to the couple. I encourage my couples to be creative, but more importantly have lots of fun."
