It’s Friday and almost time to kick off another glorious weekend of wedding planning. Today we are looking at the understated beauty of bridal bouquets made completely out of lush foliage. While we are major fans of flowers in bouquets, the lush greenery of foliage compliments the crisp whiteness of a brides attire + makes a statement for the more modern bride. For the colder months, we recommend prongs of the muted tones of dusty miller + lambs ear paired perfectly with bold, burgundy lips. Embrace deeper hued + bright varieties such as ferns, olive branches + ruscus for a vibrant pop! Be inspired lovelies.

There is nothing nicer than finishing a day off with the perfect skincare routine. Washing away the day and taking a moment to pamper and appreciate yourself. We are in love with our new skincare find… Lonvitalite + their glorious range of eye + face masks is our favourite part of this indulgent session. Rich in active ingredients, vitamins + minerals, their face masks penetrate into the skins layers to reinvigorate + strengthen the underlying layers. Our fave picks? The coconut milk hydrating + nourishing mask + the coffee anti-fatigue mask definitely take the cake. Team these glorious facial treatments with the Collagen Crystal Eye Mask to eliminate dark circles + add an evenly toned luminosity to the delicate skin surrounding the eye all while reducing those pesky fine lines. Bring a little luxury to your skincare routine and pamper your skin in preparation for the big day. Skin is forever, as are wedding photos – so it makes sense for them to be perfect.

THE COUPLE: Kate + Arron
PALETTE: Arron and I chose rainbow hues for the reception, the bridal table was green and the guest tables were all different colours.
THE DRESS: My gown was inspired by the waves of the sea with alternating folds of silk, pleated chiffon in a full skirt and a small train that bustled up for the evening. It had thin straps, a polka-dot lace bodice and traditional lace upper with buttons on the back, the gown was light and wonderful and I felt amazing in it.
THE CEREMONY: Our ceremony location was very significant; it was close to what Arron referred to as the ‘magic rock’ at Sellicks Beach. We practically live on this beach, fishing, swimming and spending time with family and friends. It is absolutely stunning. Arron and I had an arch made out of driftwood and hired wooden ‘cinema’ benches for seating. Lining the aisles were old shipping ropes and ‘knobby club rush’, a native coastal plant, which is prevalent in Yorke Peninsula where we met.
THE DÉCOR: The table decorations were all items from our home, the beach shack and the homes of our families. They consisted of old books, bottles, jars, painted bones, potion bottles, shells, matchboxes and succulents from our garden placed in goblets. Each table was assigned a colour of the rainbow, and only items of that colour were placed there, alongside flowers and floating candles. I hand painted seating cards to correspond with the correct table colour and personalised thank you note on the reverse side. We also included fork and spoon napkin rings stamped with ‘spoon me’, ‘fork you’ or ‘eat’. The ‘Mr & Mrs Smith’ sign was carved out of cuttlefish that Arron and I collected at Yorke Peninsula. We also hired a clear marquee, lawn games, Daytona arcade games and outdoor furniture.
THE FLOWERS: I was after something very natural. I loved greenery and bright colours and simply left the rest up to my florist. We followed a colour guide for each reception table and I provided a colour palette for each of the bridesmaids’ half crowns. We were originally planning to have large gumleaf garland decorating the ceremony arch, however the arbour looked so beautiful on its own that we draped the piece over the signing table.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We were seeking something different. Ky is incredible, his style of photography and amazing eye for detail was just what we were after, Ky was very professional and went above and beyond.

Providing your guests with a little something that says thankyou for sharing this special day with us is a nice touch + one that will leave your guests feeling all warm + fuzzy on the inside as they part. Its time to move away from the norm + think outside the box; we are talking about bonbonniere that is practical, fun, unique + even delicious in some cases! With that in mind, we have found the perfect bonbonniere that is super-cute, chic + won’t break the bank. Your guests are going to obsess over their unique tea favour – we know because we can’t get enough of the idea! This is the perfect little DIY that is sure to add that personal touch to your nuptials. What’s more perfect? We have found the ultimate tea to use… ladies, allow us to introduce you to Australia’s own Madame Flavour. Madame flavour teas are the perfect tea to celebrate life’s great relationships; beautifully indulgent tea that contributes in a small way to your day. With an array of delightfully combined flavours, you + hubby are sure to find the perfect blend, after all, you found each other!
Store the indulgent tea bags in brown paper bags wrapped with string, in a tea cup + saucer or a hessian bag for that vintage rustic feel. Alternately, place them in a square tin/box for that trendy, elegant yet modern feel just like our real wedding couple Nena + Michael “we made our own bonbonniere from gold tins + filled them with madam flavour teabags”[pictured below]. With cute tags like “love is brewing” + “you’re just my cup of tea”, how can your guests not fall in love with this totally chic idea– they are going to think you are tea-riffic!

There is nothing better than fresh fruits in the summertime. Light + delicious like apricots + cream, this wedding colour palette is as dreamy as can be! The two colours work beautifully together to create a wedding style perfect for feminine brides. Combining apricot with rustic timber elements + features make for a picturesque vintage inspired style, or with decadent gold’s + luxe pieces for an elegant wedding oozing glamour + sophistication.

Its easy to identify white orchids as a more ‘beachy’ type wedding floral, similar to the fragrant frangipani, with its blossoming yellow centre + crisp white petals, however we think thanks to their versatility, they are just as perfect in a modern affair. Fragrant + exotic, their impeccable look, soft petals, whimsy bloom, unique colouring options + shapes make them sensational choices for a bride. The flutter of "moth" orchids look exceptional when paired with roses in a brides bouquet. Whether arranged alone, in a group or cascading lavishly in a bouquet, they look super-fantastic + will add an air of elegance to your celebration.

THE COUPLE: Kylie + Justin
PALETTE: our colour palette was blue, white and pink. I chose the colour and style of the bridesmaid dresses early, which were larkspur and an ivory colour. Justin and I then matched colours that complemented the dresses including navy suits and light pastel coloured flowers of white, light pinks and dusty miller to blend in the larkspur.
THE DRESS: I was looking for something with lace and detail over the shoulders; something different from the strapless look. It was a fitted dress covering my shoulders with beautiful, elegant ivory lace and a champagne undertone.
THE CEREMONY: Justin and I wanted a traditional ceremony and once we drove past this church we instantly fell in love with it. It was beautiful and had spectacular surrounding gardens, which were perfect to capture the photographs for the day.
THE RECEPTION: we wanted somewhere easily accessible for our guests to attend and return home from, so the city was a perfect location. We visited the Mortlock Library and both fell in love with the idea if having our reception there, nothing could compare after this! The atmosphere created from the old books on the mezzanine level cannot be described in words; it is mesmerising and calm to say the least. We had one long table with all our guests, including the bridal party, which gave it an inviting feel.
THE DÉCOR: our stylist from Bizzarro created spectacular table settings. We had one long table with all our guests, including the bridal party, which gave it an inviting feel. Out table set up had a continuous flow by using paper runners from one end to the other with an arrangement of candles, books and flowers. Justin and I both love coffee and thought it would be nice to have a barista whip up coffee for guests.
THE FLOWERS: I chose arrangement of white roses, blush roses, dusty miller and freesias. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were similar to mine with gypsophila instead of the freesias and the flower girl held a bouquet of gypsophilia.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Justin and I chose Mark from Bentinmarcs Photography and absolutely loved him. We immediately felt relaxed and comfortable from our first consultation and thereafter. Mark was funny, made us laugh and took beautiful photographs, capturing our special moments during the day.

THE COUPLE: CHRISTIE + MATTHEW
PALETTE: Gold, black and shades of pink. Matthew and I wanted a very classic look. I loved the idea all things gold with bright pops of colours.
THE DRESS: I was looking for something classic yet striking. I’m a lover of lace, so being head-to-toe in lace was a must. My gown was hand-made by Red Pearl Couture. It was amazing! I fell in love with it as soon as I tried it on and it definitely reflected my distinct taste. The gown show off a lace bat neckline, thin belted waistline and a flowing A-line skirt. It also had a low ‘illusion’ back showcasing the lacework, with lovely pearl button lining the centre.
THE CEREMONY: We married in a beautiful church that was Matthews’s family church he attended as a little boy. It is also the closest church to where we are living now. Our ceremony décor was so beautiful. We lined the aisle pews with tulle bows adding a touch of gold in the centre.
THE RECEPTION: The Adelaide Town Hall was a classic and beautiful reception space. We wanted to celebrate somewhere that wouldn’t date or change if we were to go back there in twenty years time. The internal auditorium is a spectacular room. Intricate details, including the ornate ceiling, walls and magnificent organ, made for the perfect backdrop for our wedding. Each reception table had a large vase centrepiece with bunches of flowers and surrounding with candles. The table numbers were handmade gold glitter sheeting with black numbers. We also hired an open photobooth.
THE FLOWERS: The flowers were bright and colourful. My bouquet was made up of peonies and roses with an abundance of greenery. The girls had similar bouquets and I loved the way the pink shades complimented the dresses.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We were looking for a photography style that was really natural and truly captured the moment. Matthew and I did not want any ‘posed’’ shots. We chose the wonderful Christopher Morrison. We had seen his work and were huge fans. There is an incredibly natural, effortless nature to his photographs; simply breathtaking.

Its official! The first awards night of 2016 kicked off on Sunday night at the Golden Globes – it was a night full of laugh-out-loud moments, well deserved globes + a magical dose of all things to come this year in fashion.
The red carpet this year did not disappoint – it was all about statement colours, plunging necklines, sparkly sequins + sheer illusion gowns, with the off cheeky midriff baring gown making its stylish debut [yes, we are talking about you Jennifer Lawrence + Kate Hudson]. With all of this colour on the carpet, we are feeling very inspired + have compiled 7 bridesmaid colours that are sure to make a statement at your wedding.
You want your bridesmaids to stand out on your big day- for all the right reasons. From soft pastels to primary tones, consider the hues that turned heads on last night's red carpet to outfit your lady line up.
BACK TO BLACK
Not only is black super flattering + slimming on all body shapes, it oozes elegance + class, plus your leading ladies will thank you for giving them a reason to invest in a new LBD.
IT’S A PINK THING
Soft, airy + delicate pastel pink hues have always been a top pick for brides everywhere. Why not change it up + and select gowns in hues of this years rose quartz. For added fun, have your bridesmaids pick styles they adore in rose hues that suit their skin tone.
A controversial colour that is usually avoided -especially by brides- makes a bold statement + we are loving it. A wow factor on olive hued skin, these leading ladies have set the trend – mustard, ochre + marigold work best when paired with a bold red lip.
These statuesque starlets chose to dazzle in metallic hues fitting enough for the Globes. Your leading ladies will sparkle besides you in gowns coloured to match your bubble.
Just like a statement red lip, your bridesmaids will stand out standing by your side in these scarlet + crimson hues.
Trust us when we say this! Take a style note from Kate Middleton’s nuptials + have your lady line up dressed in the same colour as you – it’s the new thing, all the cool kids are doing it!
We would like to take a moment and appreciate Malin Akermans extraordinary Reem Akra gown – this is what bridal dreams are made of! Brides everywhere – eat your heart out at this beauty..

THE COUPLE: Paige + Jake
PALETTE: Our colour palette was extremely bold, consisting of mainly orange, pink and yellow. Cameron and I are both very creative and wanted a distinctive element to our wedding. We are also quite outdoorsy, so we introduced earthy tones into the pops of colour.
THE DRESS: My gown was designed and built fro scratch. I was looking for something that suited my personality and was distinct from the traditional bridal gowns. I wanted a backless sequined, 'figure hugging' style with am air of sophistication. My train was hand sewn ruffled lace fabric.
THE CEREMONY: Over two years ago we ventured to the Adelaide Hills for a day trip to the wineries. As soon as we drove into the venue, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. That overwhelming feeling of 'this is it'. Our ceremony décor was quite refined, as we wanted our family and friends to admire the natural beauty of the location. We chose white Americana chairs for guest seating and a wine barrel for our celebrant to utilise. Cameron and I also had an entertaining 'open photo booth' for guests to enjoy once the ceremony was over. It was a mini Jeep Wrangler with a personalised stamp of our names, wedding date and 'Just Married' printed on the side.
THE DÉCOR: All our decor was supplied by Olive You Occasions, including personalised items such as milk bottles, 'C & P' letters on our table, wine barrel toppers with our wedding logo, two little orange tea light hippos, humorous books about love and friendship and an eclectic hand painted wooden family. There were also orange espresso cups which were used as tea light holders, wooden photo frames, yellow and orange vases and jugs, a 'mini Jeep Wrangler open photo booth', giant pink balloons with ribbon, white ornament birds and a white 'LOVE' sign. All of our signs and stationery such as menu, program, 'thankyou' and instagram signs and unique table seating chart were designed and printed by Olive You Occasions.
THE FLOWERS: Flower arrangements were a distinct feature of our wedding, there were colourful displays placed in milk bottles and vases at the reception, and a breathtaking hanging floral swing suspended from the ceiling above guest seating.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Cameron and I chose Jade Norwood as our photographer. We were looking for a fun, personal and natural photography resulting in images that reflected our relationship and personalities. Cameron and I had our engagement shoot with Jade, which was very relaxed, and the photos turned out incredible.

We are feeling super inspired by this gorgeous citrusy summer colour that we just had to share. Chrysanthemums are a great choice for brides who are looking for an alternative to the soft hues of classic bridal flowers, such as roses and peonies. They’re striking and make a statement just in themselves! We’ve put together our fave ideas for a green chrysanthemum themed wedding…
The bright green of the flowers is complemented beautifully with fresh whites and greys, as it balances out the colour to create an elegant wedding scheme. Spider chrysanthemums look fab in a bouquet and as centrepieces, whether you create a solid chrysanthemum bouquet or having one or two peaking out amongst white flowers!
