We've chosen a sweet palette of pinks, reds and golds for our 'xoxo' style, as a tribute to love. Of course, you could use any colour palette that takes your fancy as it's easy to create some 'xoxo' elements. These gold cake toppers are simple and adorable, providing guests with not only a piece of cake, but also a very special kiss and hug. If you can, incorporate 'xoxo' into your wedding stationery, from invitations to menus, to ensure consistency across your styling. "XO" helium filled balloons are the perfect photography prop - use them creatively to create the most adorable pics. Chocolate kisses are an ideal bonbonniere choice (because honestly, who doesn't love chocolate and kisses? Even better combined!).

THE COUPLE: CATERINA + CORY
THE GUESTS: 110
PALETTE: White, gold, black and coral.
THE DRESS: My gorgeous gown was designed and created by Liz from Eliza French. I really trusted Liz’s vision and expertise and she guided me through the entire process. We worked together to produce something truly special and I was extremely happy with the final result. My gown was a white silk organza design with a French lace and nude underlay.
THE CEREMONY: We loved the idea of walking from the ceremony to the reception with our guests. After discovering our reception venue, we looked at the surrounding parklands. Cory and I chose a beautiful grassed area with an iconic Adelaide backdrop to highlight our love of the city. The location offered a pleasant walk along the River Torrens with views of the Adelaide Convention Centre, Festival Theatre, and new Torrens footbridge.
THE RECEPTION: Cory and I chose Glen Ewin Estate for their outstanding food, perfect city centre location and unique ambiance and atmosphere, mingling with other guests while the bridal party went for photos.
THE DECOR: We chose gorgeous Moroccan lanterns that perched above the bridal table. Our florist pieced together a breathtaking floral arrangement to complement the incredible lighting display. The feature completely took my breath away. The number of stems and the density of the flowers were above and beyond what I had expected. We also scattered Moroccan-inspired vessels and candle holders with bunches of flowers to complete the look.
THE FLOWERS: The floral arrangements consisted of David Austin roses, dahlias and blackberries.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Cory and I were looking for a good balance between candid and posed shots. We chose Kim from Panache Photography for his bubbly and enthusiastic nature. Kim was super efficient, lots of fun and had a great eye for detail. It was clear Kim was very experienced and provided exceptional ideas and guidance for photos, locations and timelines.

THE COUPLE: Catherine + Jeremy
THE GUESTS: 105
PALETTE: Bright, bold colours! Jeremy and I loved the vibrant graffiti on the walls of our reception venue and used this as inspiration.
THE DRESS: My mother made my gown; I really wanted the personal touch of my mother creating my wedding dress. She completed a fashion design course when I was younger and has made clothes for me my whole life. The gown was pieced together with so much care and love. I was looking for something original and quite different however still relatively traditional. The result was a silk ‘mermaid’ design with a Valentino lace bodice.
THE CEREMONY:Jeremy and I chose an old heritage building, which had been restored into a beautiful vintage space. Jeremy used to perform there with various bands and I would love to watch him play. We exchanged vows on the stage, surrounded by a magnificent blue curtain and chandeliers lining the ceiling. The space was fabulous for photos!
THE RECEPTION: For our reception we were looking for something alternative and a little unusual. When Jeremy and I came across an industrial art space with graffiti pieces covering the walls, we instantly fell in love. It was exactly what we were looking for. Jeremy’s sister had attended an exhibition there and sent us photographs. It was a unique and colourful space with the flexibility to create our dream wedding.
THE DECOR: With the amazing graffiti artwork at the reception venue, we kept decorations to a minimum. Jeremy and I placed fabric runners down the tables, and created centrepieces with three assembled wire balls and a tealight candle inside. Our bombonieres added incredible colour and interest. The table numbers were books, which we requested guests to write messages in for Jeremy and I to read upon our first anniversary. We scattered a few small black painted cans with white flowers and larger floral arrangements around the room. Jeremy and I also hired a number of mismatched vintage items, including chairs, beverage tubs, and an old bathtub.
THE FLOWERS: My mother and cousin did a fantastic job at arranging my bridal bouquet. We chose flowers that were in season and the final result looked fabulous. We also included beautiful bright daisies in the bridesmaids’ bouquets to complement the colour theme.
THE PHOTOGRAPHER: Jeremy and I were looking for a combination of natural candid photos and theatrical images that possessed an artistic element. B Captured by Ky Luu was a fabulous photographer! Ky captures the most beautiful moments from a multitude of angles, without you even noticing he is there. Ky has a very friendly manner and created a light and enjoyable mood throughout the day.

THE COUPLE: PAIGE + JAKE
PALETTE: We combined our love of rural, modern, boho, classic and romantic. Everyone who attended our wedding could see Jake and I in every detail! Jake and I chose white and gold with a pop of colour through the bridesmaid bouquets and greenery. We wanted to keep it tasteful, timeless and true to us.
THE DRESS: I loved my gown! It had the ‘boho’ feel I was looking for, whilst also being fitted and flowy at the same time. I really wanted a beautiful silhouette, which was romantic and whimsical with a sexy side to it.
THE CEREMONY: Our ceremony location has always been our ‘go-to’ place for when we need some ‘us’ time. Every year we stay there at least once and we would always look out onto their beautiful garden and think what a gorgeous place that would be to get married!
THE RECEPTION: The Port Lincoln Hotel was definitely an all in one venue. Our guests were able to enjoy a drink while waiting for the reception to commence, and they were also able to book accommodation for the night. It was a spacious venue with a beautiful view! Jake and I wanted to keep it casual yet also traditional. We wanted a sense of calm throughout the day whilst keeping guests entertained and able to let their hair down at night! When guests arrived they were treated to canapés in the entrance foyer, before being welcomed into the ballroom. The bridal table was placed in the middle of the room with four long tables either side; this suited our relaxed vibe and allowed us to feel close to our guests who were coming to congratulate us!
THE DECOR: Each reception table had a gold sequined runner with five floral arrangements and tea lights in little glass vases down the centre. The candy buffet was the bomboniere for our guests so at each place setting we placed candy bags with paper doilies, a golden peg and our guests’ names printed on the front. Jake and I used white Chiavari chairs, with a beautiful white silky organza woven through the bridal party chairs to ensure our table stood out. We also used white bench ottomans, lounges and glossy side tables. The amazing hanging floral arrangement above the bridal table was created by my mother and was definitely my favourite element of the reception decor.
THE FLOWERS: My bouquet consisted of all white peony roses, cluster roses, white spray roses, carnations and tulips. My bridesmaids’ bouquets were filled with beautiful coral tones from stem roses, stem cluster roses, billy button, tulips and asparagus fern greenery. All white disbud chrysanthemum, with green foliage of asparagus fern and ivy berry floral arrangements were placed at the reception.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Jake and I chose Jade after seeing her work and also after having our engagement shoot with her. We had so much fun, felt so comfortable and we shared the same vision as her. Jake and I wanted to keep our photos as natural as possible and did not want to look posed. We also wanted to capture the fun we were having with our bridal party along with the love that we share.

THE COUPLE: Kristine + Leeham
PALETTE: The girls wore varying shades of red and pink in their lipstick and carried bright colours through their bouquets.
THE DRESS: My dress was custom made. After trying on so many dresses I realised I wanted something that I could look back on and love! Most importantly I wanted to feel comfortable and beautiful in my dress. My gown was low back with a fitted bust and a unique lace over the bodice. The gown flowed out at the waist, just below a beautiful belt. It was designed perfectly and the staff really catered to everything I wanted. I also had a two meter detachable train. It was great having the option to take it off so I could dance and move around freely without holding onto it all night!
THE CEREMONY: I always dreamed of a wedding in a beautiful old church. This was something I had my heart set on from when Leeham proposed. It was really amazing seeing the church doors open and Leeham standing at the alter, and saying our vows to each other in front of all our family and friends. The church was absolutely lovely and had such a nice warm feeling. They were also very accommodating to our choice of music and flowers.
THE RECEPTION: We heard amazing reviews of the venue. Leeham and I looked at a few different function rooms, however this venue really catered to anything and everything we wanted, making the entire process so easy. Once we went through all the special features the reception could offer us we both knew we wanted to have our reception there.
THE DECOR: We placed flowers down the aisle and tulle hanging from row to row with additional flowers on a pedestal. The fresh flowers added so much colour, life and a hint of the outdoors to the church ceremony. The ceremony venue was located on amazing grounds to capture some great photos! The centrepieces for the tables were flowers. We had a cone vase with a slightly unstructured large ball of flowers on top. This consisted of cream vendella roses, white ecuador roses, white lisianthus and a touch of greenery. The vase was placed on a mirrored base surrounded by three crystal tea lights. We had chandeliers and a backdrop for the bridal table, as well as Rococo white chairs. We included up lighting, fireworks and dry ice.
THE FLOWERS: The bouquets consisted of soft pink roses, with a darker pink rose and white lisianthus, cream vendella rose, green lisianthus, a small touch of the black privet berry and gum leaf.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We wanted traditional elegance with a modern feel. We were seeking some timelessly romantic photos, but at the same time wanted a few fun group shots as well. We heard really good reviews about the work of Photos Xposed Photography and when we went to meet them we got along so well. Leeham and I loved their professionalism and their willingness to take on our ideas.

Let's get real here - honouring the bride-to-be is the main reason of a bridal shower, but perfectly planned entertainment, AKA games, will mean that all attending will have a day/night to remember. Here, we have compiled some of our favourite bridal shower games, from icebreakers to kick things off to festivities that will leave everyone wishing for more.
1.This one is super fun + will last the whole shower! As your guests walk through the door, hand them a plastic ring + explain to them that no one at the shower is allowed to say the forbidden word. The word can be anything you like – the grooms name or even the word wedding itself or to put a little twist on things, why not forbid a certain movement or act? No crossing of the legs or elbows on the table – it makes for some serious fun! Inform everyone that if they are caught doing or saying the forbidden, then the person who catches them is allowed to steal their coveted plastic wedding bling. At the end of the shower the person with the most wedding rings wins a prize!
2. Pass out wooden spoons + sharpies and ask guests to anonymously write down their best wedding advice + Voila, you’ve just mixed up the perfect recipe for love for your darling bride + hubby. Collect the spoons – here comes the fun part – and hand them over to the bride to read aloud + have some fun + giggles listening to the many words of wisdom. We guarantee a few blush worthy tips! Ask the bride to choose her favourite and award the prizes to the winners. As a cute keepsake – frame the bride’s favourite choices as a sentimental wedding gift – you’re such a good bridesmaid!
3. Its time to get baking! There’s nothing we love more than a DIY cupcake station at any kind of party – so this game totally has our name written all over it! Bake cupcakes as usual but drop a plastic wedding ring into the mix + don’t tell a soul! Get the guests to decorate their cupcake as bridal themed as then can + get the bride to pick her favourite design! WAIT! It gets even better… you get to eat the cupcakes after [cue mouth drooling emoji] because the plastic ring still needs to be found! Let them know that one lucky lady has a hidden surprise inside her freshly frosted treat. Once the ring is found award the guest a prize and inform her that tradition says she is next in line to say, “I do”.
4. A classic favourite among people of all ages! Nothing gets a crowd going like a good game of bingo – so why not bridal bingo?! So straight forward but so much fun, customise your board, print + begin.
5. A bridal shower games list isn’t complete without the toilet paper couture wedding dress game. We suggest you visit your local Costco store because this game is going to need a lot of toilet paper to work. Split guests into groups, or leave everyone by themselves to make it more interesting, set the clock for 15 minutes + watch the madness unfold. For added fun, give each person/group materials in which the have to use in their design – feathers, stringed beads, fabric etc. Once time is up, set up a catwalk and let the bride crown the winner.

Some of the best wedding colour combinations we have seen pair a soft colour with a bolder one. For a truly stylish and romantic wedding, why not take into consideration black and blush pink together. THE COUPLE: Rechelle + Michael
PALETTE: Pale pinks, soft pastels with other neutral shades.
THE DRESS: Originally I wanted a simple lace design, however I ended up choosing a fitted strapless full lace ‘mermaid’ style gown. This style suited my body perfectly. I also added sheer straps and had the dress lowered at the back..
THE CEREMONY: As soon as we walked through the venue we fell in love. There were peacocks and chickens wandering, butterflies in the garden and an abundance of gorgeous flowers. It was naturally beautiful with a very relaxed feel. After the ceremony we treated guests to drinks and canapés on the grassed area where there were lawn games, a swing, tables, lounge chairs, a wheelbarrow filled with water bottles, a guest book table with an old typewriter and an array of flower-filled jars.
THE RECEPTION: Michael and I were looking for something unique. The location had a beautiful French provincial style barn with grand mirrors wrapping around the interior walls. It was beautifully rustic and alternative which we loved. We also wanted our ceremony and reception in the one location.
THE DÉCOR: Our seating chart was a large vintage glass window and we also offered an assortment of ‘flip flops’ for those ladies who wanted to kick off their heels and a basket of blankets for anyone who was feeling the weather. We chose a long table setting with white linen, silver glassware, white plates and gold Chiavari chairs for our reception. The candles were rustic gold and crystal in all different sizes and were beautifully scattered down the table. Accompanying greenery mingled through the centre of the table and surrounded the candles, including olive tree branches and varying shades of pale pink and cream roses.
THE FLOWERS: My bouquet was an unstructured design with a mixture of pastels and bright-coloured blooms. The flowers included pink lisianthus, David Austin ‘Juliet’ roses and greenery bound with ivory ribbon. Rose petals were scattered down the aisle and similar florals were used to decorate the tables, outdoor swing, as well as my hair accessory. Michael’s buttonhole was made up of silver suede, greenery and freesia.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We were looking for attention to detail with beautiful light imagery that could really capture the moment. We chose Kelsey from Elevation Photography. I received Kelsey’s details through a friend’s recommendation. As soon as we met, we just ‘clicked’, almost as though we had known each other for years. I looked through her photographs and absolutely loved them. I would highly recommend her; she made the day so enjoyable and Michael and I were very relaxed.

It’s that glorious time of year again lovers - HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! We get to celebrate sun, fun + all things summer – and what better way to celebrate a summer love fest than with delicious + refreshing cocktails. Here are a few rules to remember to nail the perfect signature cocktail; choose concoctions that speak to you + your groom – whether it be your favourite drink, flavour or even colour – that way it adds an extra special little touch. You have a bit of a sweet tooth while hubby-to-be prefers the citrusy sour taste? Perfect! Pick a drink that represents each for guest to sample. A lengthy recipe will sure cause a line at the bar for these delicious refreshments, so ensure that you keep your recipe nice and simple, making your bartenders job a lot easier – or better yet, pre-mix your concoctions and place them in a drink dispenser making for the perfect wedding decor detail.
Here is a list of our 5 favourite summer refreshments to get you inspired..
Watermelon is practically the unofficial fruit of summer, which means it is the perfect fruit for a crowd-pleasing cocktail. Garnish the cocktail with sprigs of fresh mint + spears of watermelon. This recipe is simple enough to make in bulk, making it perfect for large weddings.
INGREDIENTS [makes 8 drinks]
30 large fresh mint leaves
4 thick slices fresh watermelon, seeds and rind removed
1 1/4 cup light rum, such as Bacardi
1/2 cup sugar syrup
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (3 limes)
Sprigs of mint + spears of watermelon, for serving
1.Use a mortar + pestle to mash the mint leaves - you can add a little sugar to help break up the leaves + get the oils from the mint extracted.
2.Remove and discard the rind and seeds of the watermelon. Place the watermelon, rum, sugar syrup and lime juice in a blender + blend until smooth. Stir to get the froth to go down.
