Plants that have silvery foliage are your new best friend’s when it comes to your floral arrangements! Silver helps tone down bold, hot reds, yellows + oranges, yet is a match made in heaven with soft blues, pinks + whites. The soft + fuzzy Dusty Miller will ensure that any flowery partner will shine – but of course we know that no one can outshine the bride!

THE COUPLE: Trista + Cameron
PALETTE: We wanted the day to be enjoyable, relaxed and ‘us’. Cameron and I wanted a fairly simple wedding with a few ‘DIY’ touches. With a love of vintage and rustic styling we used hessian, string, and brown paper and fairly neutral colours, with some blush and pastel tones. This theme allowed us to include some personal touches, get crafty and have a day that reflected us.
THE DRESS: After visiting multiple bridal stores and trying on a variety of wedding gowns I knew they weren’t ‘me’. At first I was not entirely sure what I was after, I wasn’t a girl who grew up with a ‘dream dress’ idea, however there were particular dresses that stood out to me straight away. I decided I wanted something lacy with a vintage feel that was simple in shape yet had some detail. When looking at gowns I always found myself looking at the back. I also wanted something that I could be comfortable in all day. My gown was a ‘v-neck’ bust with scallop edging and pretty lace straps that also ran down the back forming a ‘v-shape’. There was also a beautiful hand beaded embellished band under the bust that wrapped around to form a bow at the back. The entire dress had intricate hand beaded work. My something blue was a ring with a blue stone, belonging to my late grandmother, which I tied to the inside of my dress.
THE CEREMONY: As I grew up in South Australia and my entire family are still living there, Cameron and I made regular trips down to visit. We knew for some time South Australia would be where we would tie the knot. After our engagement, we looked into Adelaide wedding venues, in particular looking for a location where we could potentially plan the wedding ourselves. Once we came across this beautiful provincial homestead and viewed photos of previous weddings there, we instantly fell in love. It was from that moment we knew it was the place for us! The venue is absolutely breathtaking and located in such a beautiful part of South Australia. We had quite a simple ceremony, which we actually wrote ourselves, including our vows. It was really special listening to the vows, which reflected our appreciation of one another, our commitment to our future together and our selfless love.
THE RECEPTION: The reception was nestled amongst the beautiful French homestead on a tennis court and by a pool creating a perfect blank canvas for us to do as we wished. We were able to arrange everything just as we wanted. Having the wedding in one location allowed family and friends to go straight from the ceremony to the reception and enjoy the afternoon eating, drinking, dancing, playing lawn games and mingling with other guests while the bridal party went for photos.
THE DÉCOR: I sewed hessian square mats, which were placed in the middle of the tables and topped with recycled jars and ‘freshly picked’ flower arrangements. On each guests’ plate there was a homemade thank you message from the bride and groom on brown card. We displayed vintage books, along with photos of our grandparents who have gone before us, recognising that they will be forever present in our hearts. I also made the ‘key to your seat’ with guests’ names and table numbers and the ‘advice for the bride and groom’ slips. We hired other decor items including lounges, wine barrels for tables, suitcases, books, a ladder, wooden crates, watering cans, and chalk boards. We had games on the lawn, drinks in wine barrels and an acoustic guitarist followed later by his band members. For us it was about creating a fun vibe and an enjoyable laid back celebration. The photo booth was a vintage lounge with vintage suitcases beside it, where guests took photographs with a Polaroid camera. They could take a photo home with them and also add one to our own personal collection.
THE FLOWERS: A mixture of white flowers with a few blush tones. The bouquets were white chrysanthemums and blush roses wrapped with twine. On the tables there were mixed flowers with additional colour including lavender, baby’s breath, dahlias and green foliage.
PHOTOGRAPHER: The moment I saw Tamika’s photos I just fell in love with her style. I also saw photos she had taken at our wedding venue, which definitely helped us make our decision! Her photos are natural and capture all the special moments. Tamika’s personality makes for a relaxed feel in front of the camera. She knows her job well and has a natural approach, which made us very at ease.

Bridesmaid’s gifts are tricky + as a bride, you put your bridesmaids through a lot – how do you say “Thank You” to your best friends for pampering you throughout your engagement? Or for your bridal shower, bachelorette party, all the help they gave you while wedding planning, and of course their undying friendship through all your bridezilla moments [we forgive you] - they are there by your side until the very last dance!
Gift them a little “me” time, they deserve it. Packed with all kinds of spa-inspired luxuries, this bridesmaid box is a wonderful way to encourage your closest friends to spend a little time focused on themselves + thank them for all the energy they poured into your special day.
Help your bridesmaids get wedding day ready with Ole Henriksen’s oil-free pore refining cleansing wipes which deeply exfoliate the skin with AHA's and leave that fresh-faced feeling behind while Dr. Jart’s antioxidant infused beauty balm with added SPF45+ will leave them saying goodbye wedding day blemishes + hello photo-ready flawless skin! The Body Shop’s new virgin mojito body scrub will invigorate the body with its blast of zesty + refreshing lime + mint extracts.
Set the mood + bask in the ambiance with a gloriously beautiful scent like the wild jasmine + mint candle by Peppermint Grove Australia – the perfect scent to relax all the right senses. Sephora’s pomegranate eye mask will ensure that in 15 minutes no one notices the ‘I was way too excited to sleep because you’re getting married’ bags under the eyes whilst long, luscious lashes are fast becoming as popular as a good pair of eyebrows, your ladies in waiting will have a gorgeous pair of Glameyes on your big day.
No day at the spa is complete without some tender loving care to your beautiful locks + we’re about to bring the salon [+ its perfect blow-dry] to the comfort of your own home. Treat your hair to John Frieda’s full repair shampoo + conditioning - restoring strength to damaged hair + reducing the risk of breakage for full, bouncy hair! The new Tangle Teezer blow-styling hairbrush makes it 100x easier to blow-dry your hair + maintain that salon quality finish. The fine tips enable the brush to 'pick-up' hair and gently guide it through the lower part of the teeth allowing free flow tension removing excess moisture for a quicker dry + styling. Oh, and how super-cute are these Invisi Bobble hair rings – the modern day alternative to hair ties. No kinks? Yep! Firm hold? You betcha! No headaches from super tightly pulled back hairstyles? YAAAS!

It’s the day young girls spend their childhood planning. But like all young girls, we didn’t realise the hard – but fun + totally worth it– work that actually went into planning every detail of a wedding. Which brings me to my point – take a seat + let's talk wedding reception set-up, or more specifically - how do you choose between using long or round tables?! The answer? Well you’re a bride, decisions don’t come easy, but hopefully we can make it a little easier for you.
The vibe of your wedding reception greatly depends on how the evening is organised + one of the easiest ways to make your party feel welcoming + warm is with your wedding tables. Don’t doubt its ability to transform your venue of choice ladies – whether you’re having an intimate setting or a lavish affair, your set-up + styling plays a major role.
The three magic words when it comes to influencing your table design decision; say it with me ladies - venue size, centrepiece + interaction! Consider the sizing of the venue + which table style would allow you to efficiently utilise the space, along with what centrepiece design you are crushing over.
This one is the classic choice, if you are trying to achieve that timeless feel then this is definitely the way to go. As long as your centrepieces are cooperating, your guests can easily mingle with one another across the table, along with those seated to their left + right. Each round table takes a single centrepiece + round table cloths are easily accessible, coming in many sizes + colours – hello money saver!!
For a less traditional look, try mixing small + large sized tables for an eclectic feel + this way you can accommodate for the different sized groups on your guest list - it’s a win-win for everyone. One downside however, in a smaller space it is much harder to fit a large number of round tables as they don’t neatly fit against straight-edged walls + corners. So if you are short on space, this may not be the option for you + beau.
The long rectangle table is your more modern choice + a formal dining dream which has gained popularity amongst brides + grooms. Mingling opportunities for your guests are about the same as those on a round table – although those at either end of the table might have to shout to engage with one another. Creating a regally intimate atmosphere, the straightedges modernize these tables + work really well in both larger + smaller spaces.
We recommend choosing a few smaller, but striking centrepieces [taper candles, foliage runners] placed in a row down the centre of the table or why not try a hanging centrepiece filled with luscious foliage + florals. This style however may be a little annoying for those guests who are seated towards the middle of the table. Why? Could you imagine walking around the whole table just to use the bathroom or boogie it down on the dance floor. If a guest cancels last minute or is a no show, then the seating chart gets little thrown off and can be noticed as an empty seat.
BOA TIP: If you honestly cannot decide over both of these gorgeous options, why not combine both? We are all for bending the rules of tradition, who says you need just one table type – not us! There’s room for all of them at your table [pun intended].

THE COUPLE: Georgia + Harry
PALETTE: White. I chose all white decor because it is simple and elegant.
THE DRESS: Anne from Rapsimo made my dress and she did an amazing job! I didn’t want the night to be over because I wanted to keep wearing my dress. I was looking for something unique, which I had not seen before. My gown was a two-piece design, with a full skirt and train. It was gathered on the side with pockets. The top was sweet heart-shape with dainty spaghetti straps and covered with lace, pearls and beading.
THE RECEPTION: We loved the reception venue for its amazing food and ‘sunken’ dance floor. The coordinators were lovely to work with, very professional and organised. We also had a very large guests list so we needed to ensure our chosen venue could accommodate this.
THE DÉCOR: For the ceremony we displayed two large gypsophila arrangements on pedestals in tall clear vases filled with water. On each pew there was a bow tied up with satin ribbon and bunches of gypsophila. Harry and I handed out little bottles of bubbles and bags filled with white roses and rice for our ceremony exit. For our bridal table, we scattered gypsophila filled vases and crystal tea light candles across mirrored bases. On guest tables there were alternate centrepieces of gypsophila with crystal tea lights and crystal candelabras. Place cards were at each table setting with pearl stickers above and below guest names.
THE FLOWERS: My bouquet consisted of white roses whilst my bridesmaids carried gypsophila posies.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Harry and I wanted all natural photos with greenery backdrops. We chose Photos Xposed as our photographer. We loved Vinny and Lori and clicked with them so well from our first consultation. We knew they would make the day relaxing and enjoyable with their incredible sense of humour.

It’s somewhere we have all been, you walk into your favourite cosmetics + beauty store for ONE thing + end up browsing the endless shelves; the damage? a bag full of products + one very empty wallet! Well ladies, those day's are over, we are going to make this easier on your wallet + on you. Recently, we were lucky enough to test some of the ah-mazing products by game-changing beauty brand IT Cosmetics sent to us by the lovely girls from Sephora!
Here’s a little inside scoop: Founded by former U.S television news anchor Jamie Kern Lima who noticed the need for natural looking makeup on camera, but still concealable enough under harsher lighting. Her solution? Innovative Technology Cosmetics – or IT Cosmetics – developed with the help of leading plastic surgeons to infuse cutting-edge, anti-aging technology with innovative colour cosmetics.
CC+ Veil Beauty Fluid Foundation SPF 50+
This is a compact, but not as you know it! This is the first of its kind that we have seen here at BOA HQ and we are loving it – allow us to introduce you to the cushion compact. The trick with this product is that less is more, two dabs is all you need to cover your whole face with this revolutionary product. Effortless application? Tick. Full coverage? Tick. Natural glowing skin? Tick, tick +tick! This one is a sure winner in our eyes.
Finding the right foundation is a job in itself + not to mention quite daunting. IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation is a beauty product that gives a seamless coverage, while creating a bright + radiant finish without creasing or cracking. Light enough for everyday use, an added benefit is that it can help protect your face against dryness too.
These days it is all about the brows + the products that help achieve the perfect set. This little charm comes in a one colour suits all [+ not to mention perfect coverage for greys]. It works amazingly on both thick + thin brows thanks to its oval shaped tip while the spooley brush on the opposite end makes for the perfect polished look!
Naturally Pretty Vol.1 Matte Luxe Transforming Eyeshadow Palette
We cannot stop gushing over this palette! The name doesn’t lie, everything about it screams luxe! - from the fleshy-rose coloured felt casing to the gold finishing on the inside. Fourteen shades of smooth + creamy neutral shades with one major twist -the ‘transforming pearl” shade is made to create fourteen entirely new pearlescent + shimmery shades; that’s like two palettes in one or 28 shades all together. This palette gets a big thumbs up from us!
Vitality Cheek Flush
This cheek flush is long-wear + intensely pigmented with a soft, velvety consistency that feels like a really smooth, buttery powder, the Vitality blush in ‘Pretty in Peony’ provides you with a natural flush of colour on your cheeks. A little goes a long way with this blush, so if you tend to be heavy-handed or have fairer skin, we recommend to start off light + build up.
Vitality Lip Flusher
Avoiding chapped lips in the cooler months has been a mission for us girls here at BOA – which meant avoiding lipstick pretty much altogether. So when this absolute gem came along we were more than compliant to try. The oh-so-good-for-you ingredients drench your lips in lasting hydration + the pretty shades leave a natural looking stain that looks fabulous on all skin tones!

COUPLE: Natalie + Jace
PALETTE: Our wedding palette was neutral, as I wanted our decor and dresses to be simple and rustic. I also wanted to choose colours that I would look back on down the track and still love.
THE DRESS: I wanted my dress to be one of a kind and a little different with a romantic feel. I worked with George from Alexis George to come up with my perfect, one of a kind dress. The gown was made with rare vintage ivory glass beaded French lace with hand cut applique and a soft mesh ‘mermaid’ skirt. I loved it!
THE CEREMONY: Jace and I wanted an outdoor ceremony so we chose a beautiful lawn area overlooking vineyards. We had a wedding arch made by our good friend, and decorated it with tulle and gypsophila. We also had buckets filled with gypsophila lining the aisle.
THE RECEPTION: Jace and I wanted our wedding to extend over three days so we could spend quality time with all our family and friends. We chose this location as we could hire the entire venue for the weekend, allowing us to also spend the Sunday reminiscing with guests and anyone else who wanted to pop by. We loved the property as it had so many gorgeous elements including the vineyard, the pool with fairy lights above, and the estate itself. The venue provided the rustic relaxed vibe that we were looking for.
THE DÉCOR: At the reception we had three long tables, and down the middle were rustic vintage flower jars with a combination of gypsophila, white and cream lisianthus, white, cream and light pink cluster roses and green ivy foliage. There were also a lot of candles placed down the center of the tables. Jace and I opted for shared platters for entree and main so we ensured there was enough space on the tables for the platters. We also purchased wooden signs, bunting and a fingerprint tree, and hired wine barrels and easels. A friend of mine made the mirrored seating plan, place cards and cupcake sign.
PHOTOGRAPHER: We wanted natural shots that enhanced the rustic feel of the wedding and showed off all the beautiful locations around the venue. Jace and I wanted the photos to portray our love and the love we have for all our family and friends. We looked at the photos Jade had shot in the past and we loved her pictures. After meeting Jade we knew she was the one for us. Her bubbly and relaxed personality was a perfect fit for the wedding style we wanted. On the day she was so quick to get all the shots we wanted which meant we were able to go back to the party quickly. Whilst being very inconspicuous throughout the day, Jade’s personality added to our day and we loved working with her!

The team at BOA were lucky enough to be invited to the media launch of ASIAFEST!! Treated to a Director’s tour of the inaugural festival and all its wonderful culture offerings, it was a lovely afternoon of dancing, dabbling in delightful food and chatting with the locals!
A few spots you MUST SEE:
1. Uncle Wang’s
First things first – straight to the bar! We don’t know who this mysterious Uncle Wang is... but we do know one thing, he mixes up a GREAT drink! Uncle Wang’s is the ultimate central hotspot for a delicious sip of beer, wine or spirits – whatever takes your fancy. The friendly staff are more than happy to offer beverage suggestions and while you wait check out all the Asian groceries on display! You’ll feel truly transported as you mingle under the beautiful red lanterns (PSST - they look even more spectacular once the sun goes down!)
BOA TIP: Try the ‘Cambodian Cucumber’ cocktail – deliciously refreshing and perfectly in theme with festivities!
The Cambodian Cucumber – yummm!
2. Melting Pot Markets
Feeling as though we were in the backstreets of Hong Kong, we wandered through the amazing Melting Pot Markets. Pick yourself up some delicious and authentic Asian goodies – from Rose Tea, beauty creams, gorgeous garments and even a haircut?! Grab your gals (bridesmaids even) and indulge in a little body art – of the non-permanent variety! Matching Henna tattoos is the perfect bridal party get-together as you stroll through the rest of the festival for a fabulous day and night out!
BOA TIP: Find the market stall with the unbelievable deep-fried pork crackling!! Yes it tastes as good as it sounds and comes by the bag full. You’re welcome.
3. Pick Your Country
With five Asian countries to choose from, to say you’re incredibly spoilt for food and entertainment would be an understatement! We found ourselves perfectly at home as we jumped on the plane to China. Okay so it may have been the shallot pancakes and sang choy bow at ‘Wah Hing’ but one thing’s for sure, we could have lingered by the food stalls all night.
BOA Tip: Don’t fill up too early and make sure you jet set to each destination and taste all the mouth-watering local bites – Vietnam, Japan, Korea and Thailand. There’s also plenty of entertainment and traditional theming to admire!
4. Other tourist stops to make...
Who doesn’t love a little karaoke right? Although we’ll admit we’re no Ellie Goulding – it’s all just a little bit of fun. Belt out some tunes with your besties in this one-of-a-kind shipping container – transformed by Novatech into your live singing arena! See you there.
Spot the tuk tuk! We couldn’t help but take a few silly snaps with the local Little Red Tuk Tuk #asiafesttuktuk

A little silver shimmer is the perfect way to instantly add glamour to your event. This glamorous hue works beautifully as an accent colour, but can also hold its own as the star of any wedding colour palette. Go all out with silver foil and glamorous chiffon bridesmaids gowns, or just add a touch of shimmer with a glittery layer of cake and silver embellishments.
